You mentioned on 4/17 that “there needs to be a relationship between the account used to import the events and the events themselves (ie, the events must have been created using the same account).”
Is that correct ? Events created using the same account are being called and displayed. Does that mean we can ask listing partners to add us as co-hosts of events and they will be imported.- This topic was modified 5 years, 12 months ago by Will. Reason: spelling
April 23, 2018 at 12:30 pm #1514060CourtneyMemberHi Will
You’ll need to be more than a co-host, you’ll need to actually be the one creating the event as well as the one authenticating your site with Facebook. I do hope we see some helpful movement from Facebook soon on this issue.
This is our most accurate information: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/ea-fb-privacy-policy/
Thanks

guys are thinking the API could be disabled for months ?That is going to be devastation for our sites.
April 24, 2018 at 11:01 am #1515132CourtneyMemberHey Will
Facebook changed access without warning just a few weeks ago, which impacts all of our customers like you. This is tough all around. Thus far, they really haven’t given us any indication of how permanent the changes are, or if better options may be available soon.
Super hard all around.
Sorry I don’t have a better answer at this time to offer. I’d suggest checking back on our status page if you start hearing news about Facebook changing policies again soon.
Thanks

Effective today, allowing an app to RSVP to a Facebook Event on behalf of the viewer will be deprecated.
This unfortunately isn’t enough of a change to allow us to import events as smoothly as before. In fact, we’re still stuck at the point where you must personally create the event and authenticate your website with the same account. Ugh.
I do hope we hear some more positive news soon. Thanks for the link. Our developers are on it.
Thanks

Hi Will β
In order for your pluginβs functionality (which is registered as a Facebook App) to be restored, please note that moving forward, all GET /event operations for a Page Event will require an access token of an Admin of the given Event.

JonApril 27, 2018 at 4:21 am #1517685CourtneyMemberHey Jon
I’m passing along our thread here to the developers on our side for their review for sure. They are doing all that they can at this time to restore any functionality. Sadly, yesterday our findings indicated that no event data was importing.
We’ve updated https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/ea-fb-privacy-policy/ again.
We’ll keep you posted.
Thanks
Courtney πMay 17, 2018 at 8:26 am #1532945WillParticipantCourtney – Do you guys have any new news on the FB events API ?
May 17, 2018 at 10:02 am #1533157CourtneyMemberHey Will
At least once a week, even if there’s no new news, we’ll post an update on https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/ea-fb-privacy-policy/.
Mostly – we submitted for the new round, and have heard nothing back.
Thanks
CourtneyJune 8, 2018 at 9:35 am #1549462Support DroidKeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
