I have been experiencing similar errors off and on for the last several months. This is the one I am getting today

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 53 bytes) in /home/content/71/12321271/html/wp-includes/meta.php on line 838

I usually go in and delete the older listings, but this time I have already deleted through december 2016 and there only only 740 events total, so it should not be out of memory, but it is not clearing up.
It used to happen when events were replicating themselves THOUSANDS of times, but I haven’t had that issue in a while, but I have never had to delete this low

    Hello pgleleux,

Thanks for getting in touch with us and I’m sorry you are hit by a memory issue.

Memory issues can be caused by – among some other things – the number of records in your database and the number of plugins used. This differs by the plugins, but there are some which require more resources than others, and if you have too many of those, then you simply run out of memory.

In order to find the root cause of this I would like to ask two things:

    • When are you getting the error message, what are you doing, which page are you visiting when that happens? Is it random or is it only with a couple of pages? Back-end or front-end or both? etc. The more details you can give me the better.
    • It would be great if you could run a test for conflicts based on this guide.

Let me know and we’ll dig further to solve this.

    Thanks and cheers,
    Andras

It always happens at the same time…when I click on events – view calendar
or I click on a link to view calendar. It doesn’t matter if it’s from the
front end or the back end…it’s the same. This has been an ongoing issue
from time to time, even before the aggregator. I have done all the
deactivating plug-ins in the past and it has never been the issue, because
it has never fixed the problem. I could understand it back when the plugin
was duplicating events thousands of times…but with a fraction of events
of those times, this really makes no sense. What is the use of having a
calendar if people can never access them.

    Hi pgleleux,

Again, I’m really sorry this is happening, and I understand how nerving that can be. Let me assure you that I will do my best in order to find and fix this issue with your cooperation.

I know this might seem like a waste of time, still I would like to ask you to go through our conflict testing guide, to rule out the possibility of any plugins, theme or custom code interfering with the calendar. If we manage to find which plugin is causing it, then we can start looking deeper on how we can fix that.

Also what you can try, even before conflict testing is to increase the memory on your server. I see you have 256M, so try 512M. Usually this helps with fatal memory issues.

Let me know the results and we’ll go further from there. Looking forward to solving this with you so you can have a properly working calendar and site, as you would expect.

    Cheers,
    Andras

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
