ParticipantI just purchased the Facebook event plugin. I had an App that worked in every other Facebook integration flawlessly. I with this plugin get the following error:
Facebook API Error: Unsupported get request
I have no visible restrictions on this page, never have. Reading through the forum I see what to check but seems nothing fits my issueApril 3, 2015 at 6:31 am #953005James
ParticipantI even went and removed my old app and recreated a new app, same issue. Then I attempted to use the interface with a different Fan Page and app same issue.

ParticipantThomas are you saying you can manually import them? Do they then Automatically import?

MemberHi,
Thanks purchasing our Facebook Events. I can help out here.
The Unsupported Get Request if a Facebook API error when it detects a restriction on the event or the page the event was created in.
We have a write up on that error and how to remove the restriction here:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/facebook-api-errors/
Let me know if you have any follow up questions.
Thanks

Participantokay so I don’t think this really answered my question. I meet all the requirements. Maybe let me rephrase it as this:
1) How long do I have to wait to see if the auto import works?
2) I set up a test event: https://www.facebook.com/events/1073205766039529/ when I go to the import tab and enter the event id 1073205766039529 I get this error: Either the event with ID 1073205766039529 does not exist, is marked as private on Facebook or we couldn’t reach the Facebook API
It is not private3)I see a few other people are having the exact same issue.

MemberThe auto import will start after the time period you choose in the Import frequency setting. So if you choose daily it will start 24 hours from saving. If you choose hourly it will start one hour later, etc…
That is not a valid link for the auto importer so that is why it is returning that message. It should be a page id like linncountygop not a event link such as that.
With the event link you can take just the id 1073205766039529 and go to the Facebook Import Page, add it to the field “Import events by their Facebook ID:” click Import Events and then it will import it.
However, I just tried to import that event and did get a Unsupported Get Request so that page with the id linncountygop does have some type of restriction on it. We are unable to change anything in our plugin to get around that it has to be resolved in the page itself and it is possible Facebook can add restrictions themselves without you knowing about it.
Also, we have a new user primer that goes over every setting in the Facebook Importer:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/new-user-primer-facebook-events/
I encourage you to follow that to make sure you have everything setup to work correctly.
Thanks

ParticipantI also removed the secret App ID and the App Secret and the Org name. Re entered one at a time and saved each entry and tested. Before I entered the org name it did not generate an error but it also did not import anything.

ParticipantOkay since I have connections at Facebook I contacted them and they claim there are no restrictions. DO you have an y way to discover restrictions?
I just recreated a special app following your instructions and I get the same thing. If you wish to test you can sue this:
*removed by adminPlease let me know hat you come up with.

ParticipantIs there anything I can do or way to contact facebook to have any restriction removed?
April 3, 2015 at 9:42 am #953089James
ParticipantI did get it resolved. The issue in my case was the profanity checker! I guess for future reference you may wish to update the restrictions to look at are as follows:
Age
Alcohol
Country restrictions
ProfanityApril 3, 2015 at 10:30 am #953105Brian
MemberGreat glad you figured it out. I added profanity to the list of restrictions and made it more broad so people will look for others not on the list as well.
Since this is resolved I am going to close this ticket, but if you have any questions related to this or something new, please create a new ticket for us to help you out 🙂
