Events with optional extras

Hi. We run training events and we’re looking at The Event Calendar and Event Tickets Plus to manage bookings.

I can’t figure out if Event Tickets Plus is going to work for us. We do training events. We also sell books.

When we run training events, we often sell two types of tickets to the event. For the first type of ticket there is no book included. The second, more expensive type of ticket includes one or more books. If someone wants to come to a training event and opts to buy a ticket that includes books, we need to allow them to choose which books they want so we can take them along and give them to them at the event (and track our stock of books).

The number of books included varies for different training events. Sometimes one book is included, sometimes more. We need to be able to specify the set of books to choose from for each event.

Is this something Event Tickets Plus is likely to be able to do for us?

Hi Doug.

I believe you’re requesting the same thing as one of our existing feature requests: Bookings Plugin or Feature

Typically, adding your vote there allows us to gauge interest in this particular feature request, which helps us prioritize our development efforts. However, I see that it was recently changed to “Declined” status.

That being said, Event Tickets Plus enables you to sell tickets for events via your eCommerce plugin of choice (e.g. WooCommerce). You can run your regular products store (e.g. selling books) via WooCommerce on the same site as well. But if you want to sell books at the same time as selling a ticket, that’s not possible by default but you could probably pull something like that off programmatically.

If you need some coding help, you may want to ask your developer or reference our documentation and list of known customizers.

Last but not least, we have a pretty great Refund Policy so you can buy one or many of our add-ons and thoroughly test them.
