    Hi,

    1. After updating WordPress from 4.1.1 to 4.3.1, we noticed that all of our events (still saved as events in The Events Calendar plugin), now show up as 404 errors when you click on them. However, you can still go into the event itself and edit it, but the 404 error still shows when you preview the page.
*Note: We tried Settings > Permalinks > Save changes from other forums’ suggestions, but this did not help.

    2. We love the way the calendars look next to the Upcoming Events widget on our front page. However, is there a way to decrease the size these calendars appear by 40% or so? They’re a bit overpowering next to our other text on the page. (See screenshot attached.)

    3. On the blocks with Events, how can we make the venue not come up as a clickable link? This also directs to a 404 page because not all our events have corresponding venue profiles on our site. (See screenshot attached).

    4. Although I have customized the slug to read, http://www.sitename.com/events and http://www.sitename.com/event for individual events, when you click the “View More” link from the Upcoming Events Widget, it goes to: http://www.sitename.com/events/?tribe_paged=1&tribe_event_display=list.

    Thank you so much!

    Howdy Rick,

Welcome to our support forums and thanks for reaching out to us. I’ll try to help you out with these issues!

    1. After updating WordPress from 4.1.1 to 4.3.1, we noticed that all of our events (still saved as events in The Events Calendar plugin), now show up as 404 errors when you click on them.

Is this happening to all events in your site? From what you describe I understand you are only getting 404 when trying to reach single events, right? I mean the calendar itself is showing correctly. Can you try to switch to ‘ugly’ or default permalinks and test if this works with that setting?

For #2 and #3, I couldn’t reach the screenshot you attached in system information, it returned a 404. Can you please try to send them over again? You can paste the links in your reply, if you don’t want that to be publicly visible just mark your reply as private.

    4. Although I have customized the slug to read, http://www.sitename.com/events and http://www.sitename.com/event for individual events, when you click the “View More” link from the Upcoming Events Widget, it goes to: http://www.sitename.com/events/?tribe_paged=1&tribe_event_display=list.

Can you please follow the steps described in our Testing for conflicts guide? This way we can see if this is a problem in our plugin or a conflict with the theme or other installed plugins. It would be great if you could re-test all issues under this conditions.

Please let me know about this,
    Best,
    Nico

    Hi Nico,

Just tried setting permalinks to “default” again, and the events did work. This did not happen when I tried the other day, I’m not sure what has changed. However, as I mentioned, we don’t want to leave the events looking this way on the whole site. Is there a way to change default permalinks to only the events plugin? Now knowing that the permalinks cause the 404 errors, is there a way to fix this?

    Thank you!
