When I have the permalinks on default. I can access all my events but I can’t switch to the list format in the events search page. If I change the permalink structure; I can now Access the list format but can’t click into the events as I get not found page.

    regards

I have tried these solutions(https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/fixing-http-404-errors/) to no avail.

    That is a strange issue.

I see you already tried deactivating other plugins and I’m guessing that didn’t help.

I’m curious, though – were you able to try switching (temporarily) to a default theme, such as Twenty Fourteen – then “flush” permalinks (this is as simple as visiting the Settings → Permalinks screen – you need change nothing) and did it or does it work then?

Ok so It seems to be the attachment issue but the code that you supplied to fix it currently doesn’t fix it.
    Where do I place the “add_action( ‘after_setup_theme’, ‘tribe_attachment_404_fix’ );” in the code?

    Hi Mark,

So the code found here would simply be added to your theme’s functions.php file (if you’re unsure where exactly, create a new line after the opening <?php tag and paste it in there).

I wonder – and if you don’t have time it’s fine – but do you know how to create a backup of your database and would you be willing to share a copy of it if so, so we can try and replicate to avoid this in the future?

    Thanks!

Yes I did that but still no luck, any other suggestions?

Is that file your functions.php code, or a database backup (can you remove the access restrictions and/or re-post a link in a private reply)?

    Thank you!

This is going to require a slightly deeper look than many other support requests so please do bear with us while we check it out (and as I’m out on Friday this week it will be a slightly longer delay before I can do so).

Thanks again for your patience 🙂

    Hi Mark,

The good news is I can replicate this – which makes it a lot easier to troubleshoot.

It does indeed seem to be the “attachment problem”, however I am having a slightly different experience in that if I strip things down to just The Events Calendar, Events Calendar PRO and a default theme – then “flush” permalinks by visiting the Settings → Permalinks screen – the list of rewrite rules are rebuilt and everything works correctly again.

Reading back, it seems like you already tried the same thing without success: this is odd and I’m unsure why your own experience would be any different — is it possible you inadvertently left some other plugin running while you ran through these steps, or might you have forgotten to change back to a default theme?

I basically Started from scratch with the same plugins and the same theme and the problem has not presented itself.

Well, that’s good news (though it’s a shame you had to start again completely) 🙂

In that case I’ll go ahead and close this topic – but of course please feel free to post new topics if anything else crops up.

    Thanks again!
