ParticipantWe have exhibitions that last a number of months, if I create them as one event (lasting, for example, from oct 1st to feb 1st), the event will appear once, under October, in ‘Upcoming Events’ month view, but not again for months: Nov, Dec, Jan and Feb.
The only way i’ve got round this is to run a recurring event, repeating the exhibition each month. I think visitors find this confusing, as there are now multiple instances of the same exhibition appearing for the user when they search.
How do I get around this?
Thanks

KeymasterHey Brian,
Thanks for using our plugins and for reaching out!
That’s a really interesting scenario you have there. I believe we don’t have a solution right out of the box. Please give me some time to check what we can do.
Thanks for hanging in there!

KeymasterHi Ciaran,
I’m afraid I don’t have good news. This is something that cannot be done very easily. It would require major customization work, which we are limited in supporting.
If you need some professional help in solving that, then I have a list of developers from the community who might be able to help you out with that.

Another idea that came to my mind, is hiding the recurring event from search, if that is an issue. I did a quick search and found this plugin which might help you.
Or something similar.
Does this get you closer to the solution?

ParticipantHi Andras,
Thanks for getting back to me. Is there anyway this feature could be included in future updates? I can’t believe other galleries/museums aren’t having the same problem. The ‘upcoming events’ view is the most aesthetically pleasing, and least confusing, but it’s just so frustrating it can show current/running events by month.
Thanks
Ciaran

KeymasterHello Ciaran,
I’m not quite sure how other museums or galleries who are using our plugins are handling this case.
If there is tangible need to change the functionality or have a setting for it, then it can get into future updates. If you would like this then please head to our UserVoice Page and add this idea or upvote that feature as they will increase the chances of it being added to a future version.
Here’s the link for our UserVoice page: http://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas
I also recommend giving background information, basically your opening post.
Also you could check out this plugin:
Note, this plugin is not developed by us and we don’t provide support for it, but it might help you out.
I hope this helps.

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
