Good question. The Events Calendar PRO and Community Events are entirely different products that extend the core The Events Calendar plugin in unique ways.
The Events Calendar PRO extends The Events Calendar by adding a slew of features to events, such as:
- New calendar view (week, map, photo)
- Recurring events
- Additional fields
- Organizer and venue pages
- Advanced widgets
- …and more which can be seen here
Community Events allows your website visitors to submit events to your calendar. It plays nicely with PRO in that visitors can submit recurring events and include additional fields in their submissions if PRO is installed and activated, but it does not provide those functionalities on its own. Furthermore, Community Events does not itself provide the other features listed above.
