ParticipantHello Support.
I am trying to run the update for The Events Calendar PRO. I have updated Events Calendar but when I try to run the update for Events Calendar PRO I get the error in the below text. I have also included the screen shots.“An error occurred while updating The Events Calendar PRO: Download failed. cURL error 61: Unrecognized content encoding type. libcurl understands deflate, gzip content encodings.”
Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks.

KeymasterHi David!
Thanks for reaching out and report this problem however at the moment some our Users are experiencing this problem and we have internally created a ticket for this where the Developers are looking for a solution to this problem, in the meantime you still can have updates on the plugin manually, we have a useful guide that you can follow along to make this process more easier.
I’m going to set the status of this ticket as pending fix and once we have an update for this one we are going to check in with you again to let you know about the new status of this ticket.
Please let me know if you have any other questions about this issue or if there’s anything else I can do for you.
Thanks,

ParticipantHi Patricia.
I’d be happy to help you speed this up. I’m a little confused. You’d like me to “temporarily install the following plugin”. Where is the
link for this plugin. You give a url to an example. But I’m confused what
the example is supposed to show me. Am I supposed to edit some file?Secondly, which “Settings” are you talking about: WordPress Settings or
“Events –> Setting”. I don’t see cURL in either on of these.Sorry for the confusion.

MemberHey,
Good news! We have fixed this issue in our plugin updates server. No software update is required for the fix to be applied, plugin updates should just work fine now 🙂
Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help,
Best,

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
