David
ParticipantI am using Events Calender Pro Live Here —
https://www.uvalltogether.org/happenings/
But As I go to update the Theme I am using I am having Issues with the Sidebar not displaying (Enfold Theme 3.1.5 to 4.0)
My staging area is here…and it appears the single license will not work on both sites
http://uvalltogether.staging.wpengine.com/happenings/
If I disconnect http://www.uvalltogether.org will Events Calendar Pro on the site continue to work OK?
How do I deal with this with a minimum of work?
Thanks,

ParticipantHey David,
Thanks for reaching out!
Our licenses do support staging sites, but unfortunately it’s only for a very limited set of domain types at this time. We don’t have subdomain support for WP Engine or other web hosts yet, but we are working on this.
To see a full explanation of how our licenses can be used on a live site and a dev/staging site, check out this Knowledgebase guide ? https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/using-one-license-live-dev-sites/
In regards to your specific issues, removing the license from where it’s not needed is indeed the best option. Removing the license key will not affect plugin functionality or data in any way. The license keys simply sign up a domain name for auto-updates and customer support; so the plugin works totally, 100% exactly the same with or without the license key and you should have no issues whatsoever.
Please let me know if this information helps and if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with!

ParticipantThanks George….
So Basically turn off or Remove the Live Site Key…
Then Add the Staging Key…Do the updates
Remove the Staging Key and Add the Live Site Key….
And all this does not affect performance of Events Calendar Pro…only License and Support

☝️ Correct!
So Basically turn off or Remove the Live Site Key…
Then Add the Staging Key…Do the updates
Remove the Staging Key and Add the Live Site Key….
☝️ You can do this if you’d like. You can also just leave the license on one domain name for the automatic updates, and then on the other site you can use the Manual Updates method here to manually update the plugins as needed: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/manual-updates/
But whatever works for you, David! 😀
I hope this information helps!
