GuestHi Support,
If I use Events Aggregator and I import from multiple sources (Facebook, Meetup, Google Calendar, iCalendar, CSV, and ICS), does the “export month’s event’s” link merges all the events together in one iCAL?
Thank you for your reply
Kind regards,
SimonOctober 25, 2016 at 9:46 am #1182626Geoff
MemberHi Simon,
It absolutely does, great question. In other words, once events have been imported, they are all part of the same calendar and can exported together using the “Export Month’s Events” link on the front end.
Cheers!

GuestHi Geoff,
Thank you for your reply.
Can I generate two or more separate ical “streams” using one wordpress website + theeventscalendar plugin + Event Aggregator without manually making changes?
It seems to me that I have to install another wordpress website (wordpress website + theeventscalendar plugin + Event Aggregator) to generate another iCAl “stream”.
I hope this makes sense…
Kind regards,
SimonOctober 28, 2016 at 6:51 am #1184370Geoff
MemberHi Simon,
Thanks for following up!
If I’m understanding correctly (and please forgive me if I’m not), Event Aggregator is capable of pulling in any number of “streams” into The Events Calendar, but is not really designed to be a stream in and of itself.
Is that what you mean by “streams”? If not, please elaborate a little more on what you mean by those and how you would use them. That would help a lot.
Thanks a ton!

GuestHi Geoff,
You confirmed; with the Event Aggregator I can have input from multiple sources (Facebook, Meetup, Google Calendar, iCalendar, CSV and ICS) and extract one iCal “stream”
In my case I have Area events (music, art workshops etc) and Activity Events (yoga classes, cycling meetups ect). See http://www.buzzwhatson.com//whatson.html
Is there a way to “generate” two separate iCal streams both based on multiple sources using theeventscalendar and/or Event Aggregator?I hope this makes more sense
Thanks,

MemberAh gotcha — thanks for clarifying, Simon!
Yes, it is definitely possible to create different “streams” of events and display them much the same way as the example you provided.
The only difference is that we call these “widgets” and they can be embedded on any page or post of your site.
You will need Events Calendar PRO to make it happen, but it includes a number of widget types. One of those is called the Advanced List Widget and it allows you to embed a list of upcoming events and filter the list by a specific category.
So, for example, you can place multiple widgets on your page, one for each category or group of categories you use to filter the widgets.
Here is a guide that provides a full overview of how Event Calendar PRO’s advanced list widget works, including a rundown of all the available settings:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/configuring-the-list-widget/
And here is another guide that provides information for how to embed the widget on any page or post:

Does sound like what you’re looking for? Please let me know. 🙂

GuestHi Geoff,
Just to be sure that I understand you correctly:
***Widgets***
The Event Calendar Pro Widget is similar to google calendar e.g. <iframe src=”https://calendar.google.com/calendar/embed?mode=AGENDA&height=600&wkst=1&bgcolor=%23FFFFFF&src=0gnlfm1qqk9rdcl1jp82nakb6s%40group.calendar.google.com&color=%2329527A&ctz=Australia%2FSydney” style=”border-width:0″ width=”400″ height=”600″ frameborder=”0″ scrolling=”no”></iframe>I can add a Widget to a HTML website page. Do you have an website example/show case of a Event Calendar Pro Widget?
***iCAL***
I assume that, if I use The Event Calendar Pro I can copy various icals links based on a category. Is this correct?
If so, can I choose a category or do I need to add the category manually afterwards using the Event Generator?.Thank you for your reply,
Kind regards,

MemberHi Simon, hope you’re doing well!
No, I am afraid that none of the calendar widgets can be embedded into any website like a Google Calendar widget. The widgets can indeed be embedded on any page or post on your WordPress site where The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO are installed, but no where else.
Yes, you can get the iCal URL for a specific category. And, yes, you can assign a category to an event at the time it is imported using Event Aggregator.
Cheers!

GuestHi Geoff,
Thank you for your reply.
It seems like I need to do a bit more investigation before I choose a solution. I am testing other solutions as well but so far none of them are working correctly or sufficient. Would it be possible to have a 30 day trial period of the Event Generator and Calendar Pro? I want to be certain that the functionality I am looking for is working.Kind regards,
