Event View pages generating 404 errors

    We have dozens of event view pages that are generating 404 errors and affecting our SEO.
    (We have an SEO consultant using semrush.com to crawl all our pages).

    These pages should actually be generating a list of events but instead shows a message “THERE WERE NO RESULTS FOUND” and also generates the 404 error.

    Take for example:
    https://www.brailleinstitute.org/events/category/all-engagement-types/engagement-events/page/2

    It shows the above-mentioned error, but if you
    1) click on the “Previous Events” link, it will go to another page with events listed, then
    2) Hit the back button on the browser (I’m using Chrome on a Mac), and it comes back to that same link that previously had no results, but now it shows a listing of the applicable events.

    WEIRD BEHAVIOR! How do we fix this, both so that the pages will properly show the events, and also so that our SEO won’t be negatively affected. Thank you for your help.

    Thanks for reaching out to us! I’d be happy to help you 🙂

    It’s possible there’s a conflict somewhere. Could you try to deactivate all other plugins to see if that makes a difference? Also, could you try to revert back to the default theme (Twenty Seventeen)? I would recommend you to read our documentation about testing for conflicts before doing anything.

    In case you don’t have a staging site to do those tests, you may consider using a plugin like Plugin Detective and/or Health Check, each of which provide a troubleshooting mode that aims to ensure your site will continue to operate as normal for regular visitors.
