ParticipantHi, I have disabled all plugins and gone to a default theme to test this issue, but cannot figure out what the bug is. When I setup an event with a venue, which I’ve been doing for years, now it shows the venue as “Divi” (my theme’s name) with no other information and a link to a page that is not found. For example:

KeymasterHi Katherine,
Thanks so much for reaching out!
I’m sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue on your site!
Can you take a screenshot of what this event looks like on your backend so that I can do some testing on my end?
Do you see the same issue if you switch to a default WordPress theme, like ‘Twentyseventeen’?
As a first troubleshooting step, can you try flushing your permalinks by going to Settings < Permalinks and Save Changes. You will want to clear your browser and site cache as well after doing this.
Let me know how that goes!
Thanks,
Jaime

ParticipantSorry for the delay somehow I missed your response. I did the permalink flush and cleared my cache but this did not fix the problem.
What I’m noticing is that I setup the venue in the back end and then click save, the venue saves but also a blank venue appears (see first screenshot). Then when I go back and edit the event again, it has reverted to having no venue (see second screenshot). This is happening for both of these events:

KeymasterHi Katherine,
Thanks for providing me with all of that information.
If you head to Events Settings < Default Content, do you have a default venue set? Also, is “Divi” set up as a venue, if you look at your venues?
Let me know!
Thanks,
Jaime

ParticipantI do have a default event setup – Katherine’s Studio. Divi is NOT a venue in my list of venues.

KeymasterOkay, gotcha. Do you see the same issue if you switch to a default WordPress theme, like ‘Twentyseventeen’?
Let me know!
Thanks,
Jaime

ParticipantYes, the twentyseventeen theme still yields the same results with the venue appearing as ‘Divi’.

KeymasterOkay, this is certainly a strange issue. Since this is not something that I can reproduce on my end, as a next step, let’s try to rule out if there is some type of conflict at play.
This is usually because of:1. A conflict with another plugin
2. A conflict with your WordPress theme
3. A template customization for the Events Calendar that requires updating
When it comes to that type of issue, it is preferable to troubleshoot in a staging environment if you have one.
A first quick test is to simply temporarily revert back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen to see if the issue persists.
The next step would be to go through our testing for conflicts procedure and let us know what you find out.
Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.
But, before you do that, there are 2 things I would advise:
1. Make a backup of your database
2. Consider activating a “Maintenance Page” plugin if you are doing this on your live site (to minimize impact on your visitors)
Before running through this, please make sure that all of your plugins and WordPress version are up to date.
Let me know how that goes!
Thanks,
Jaime

ParticipantHi Jaime,
I had already done all of what you recommended prior to contacting support, if you’ll refer to my initial post. I’ve decided to just delete the erroneous events as all new events are functioning properly.
Thanks anyway.
