GuestHi,
We are working on a multisite website for a college. Each academic department (and some non-academic departments as well as non-deparment features) will have its own subsite. The college wants us to build the events in such a way that all events are stored in the main site and then on subsites, they can be filtered based on categories. The reason for this is that they want a central governance workflow on the publishing of events to the public. So for example, if we have a Physics and a Biology department, all events will be created in the parent site; even when initiated from the Physics or Biology site. However, the Physics department events will have “Departments/Physics” category and the Biology department events will have “Departments/Biology” category. When the calendar is viewed on the main site, all events are shown but when viewed on the Physics or Biology sites only the events with relevant category are shown. Is this available in Events Calendar out of the box with some extensions?
We’ve seen that we can have our own template for the display of a single event; is it possible to hook the full calendar display to add a filter which the site visitor cannot change in the ad-hoc filtering?
Thanks and all the best

GuestThank you very much Jaime. Is there a way that we can get a temporary license for the pro and multisite to evaluate all this? Just a two-week license should be enough for us. What we really need is a way to have all events in the parent site and have them visible on the child site – in the calendar view as well as sidebar widgets and embedded within pages on subsites.
Thanks and all the best,
