In reply to the this topic, the tooltip is not properly positioned, regardless the theme.

    See here a

I assume the tooltip is created using javascript, hence it shouldn’t be too difficult the calculate mouse position and viewport to adjust tooltip position accordingly…

    Hi Riccardo.

Thanks for the screenshot and link to your previous thread on this topic.

I didn’t understand how we could help you any further on this topic. It sounds like you’re asking the same question.

And, yes, the tooltips do use JavaScript, but, no, we cannot provide you code customizations for what you’re asking (custom positioning).

If you want to customize them for your use case and need some coding help, you may want to ask your developer or reference our documentation and list of known customizers.

    Hello Cliff, thanks for replying.

I didn’t understand how we could help you any further on this topic. It sounds like you’re asking the same question.

Yes, I am asking again as the previous questions was unanswered, as I was told that the problem was due to theme constraints (menu height), however the picture I’ve sent today shows clearly that also when the menu is hidden the tooltip will be clipped away.

And, yes, the tooltips do use JavaScript, but, no, we cannot provide you code customizations for what you’re asking (custom positioning).

More than a custom positioning, I believe this is a “good sense” positioning, and as the code is written in javascript, there are tons of samples out there to take in account viewport size and position to place the tooltip accordingly without clipping.

Is the Javascript code themed, in other words, customizable in my child theme?

    Thanks for clarifying.

I tried the tooltips on my local testing site and they do appear above the events in Month View regardless of whether or not there’s room to display them (either because the Month View is really near the top of the page, like on your site, or even if the user has scrolled down some).

I understand you’re asking for the Month View’s tooltips to display “smarter”, taking into account the browser’s viewport instead of always appearing above each event. (For reference, the Week View’s tooltips do what you’re wanting.)

I didn’t find mention of this functionality in our internal bug/feature tracker, and the closest I found at our public feature request site is: Provide an option to select the position of Tooltips. You may choose to add your vote there, but I think it’s different from your request.

I submitted an internal bug report to draw attention to this issue. I’ll mark this ticket as Pending Fix, which means this thread should receive a reply if/when the applicable fix has been released. I cannot guarantee if/when it will be fixed as it’s in the development team’s hands now. They need to assign it, code it, test it, and schedule it for release.

I apologize for this issue and appreciate your understanding and patience.

And, yes, tooltips can be modified. Please refer to our Themer’s Guide for more details.

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
