I’m looking at Events Tickets plus as a solution for arts event ticketing. We’re looking for some specific features:

    Using WP users
We would like to ask (but not require) people who purchase tickets to set up a WP account on our site, and record information from their ticket purchase against that user account (see below).

    Custom Fields
We gather a lot of information from the people who sign up for tickets. We need the ability to create custom fields to gather this information and store it against the ticket holder’s id in a database.

    Ticket transfers
My organization sells digital tickets and allows participants to DIGITALLY TRANSFER those tickets. So the ticket owner arranges to get cash from the person they are selling the ticket to privately, and then goes into the website, and adds in the new ticket owner’s email address. The system then sends the new ticket owner and email and they complete a ticket purchase with all steps EXCEPT the financial transaction. We need this feature because we want all participants to agree to a waiver and to complete other form-field data.

    Waitlists & Ticket returns
Our events sell out quickly. We’d like the ability to gather a waiting for people who want tickets if they tickets sell out before they are able to buy one. We would then accept ticket returns so long as there are people on the waitlist. Ideally, for every ticket return the system would email the first person on the waitlist an opportunity to purchase the ticket, and that opportunity would expire in a set time period (24 hours). At expiry the system would provide a purchase opportunity to the next person on the waitlist.

Thanks in advacne for your replies!

    Hi Ash,

Thanks so much for your interest in Event Tickets Plus! I’d be more than glad to try and answer your questions here! 🙂

We would like to ask (but not require) people who purchase tickets to set up a WP account on our site, and record information from their ticket purchase against that user account (see below).

This can certainly be achieved with our plugins! Logged-in users who RSVP or purchase tickets will have their personal information stored for future orders, and users will have the option of editing some of their ticket information, as well. You can read more about editing options available to logged-in users on our Knowledgebase here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/managing-your-orders-and-attendees/#editing-attendee-info

We gather a lot of information from the people who sign up for tickets. We need the ability to create custom fields to gather this information and store it against the ticket holder’s id in a database.

Our attendee information fields sound like they might be just the solution you’re seeking here. This Knowledgebase article goes into a bit more detail regarding these fields and how to use them on your tickets. https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/collecting-attendee-information/

The system then sends the new ticket owner and email and they complete a ticket purchase with all steps EXCEPT the financial transaction.

This type of functionality may not be possible in exactly the manner described here, though you may be able to achieve something similar using the logged-in user requirement described above along with the option to edit user details after purchase. Some types of edits can only be performed by an administrator; opening up these options would likely require some fairly involved customizations. An easier (but less automated) way may simply be to have users request a transfer, then make any edits manually to the original order.

We’d like the ability to gather a waiting for people who want tickets if they tickets sell out before they are able to buy one.

Unfortunately, our plugins do not offer waitlist functionality for ticketed events at this time. A possible workaround might be to create a “waitlist” ticket type as an RSVP (free) ticket. This will allow you to collect the email addresses of interested users who RSVP, and you can use this list to reach out to users individually should additional tickets become available. 🙂

I hope that helps to get you started here! Thanks again, and please don’t hesitate to follow up if you should have any other questions!

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
