    Hi,

    We are using Community Events to allow users to submit their events to us. A problem we are having is that when the user updates their event via the Community Events Submit an Event form, if the Event Title has changed, the permalink automatically changes. We would prefer to not have the permalink modified when the Event Title changes on the front-end (only allow the permalink to be changed by editing the event in WP admin). This would ensure a 404 error does not occur as well as improve SEO by keeping the same url even if the event title has changed.

    Is there a snippet we can add to our functions.php (or worst case, a change we can make to a core file) so that if the Event Title changes when the Event is updated/resubmitted thru the Community Events Submit an Event form, the permalink stays the same (essentially meaning the permalink can only be changed by an admin via the Post Edit page within WP Admin)?

    Unfortunately we don’t have a snippet for this functionality, as it would require quite a bit of customization work.

    Just to let you know, we are limited by our Support Policy in how much we can help with customizations.

    If this functionality is a requirement for your intended project, I’d suggest that a third-party developer would be the best way to make this feature happen on a short timeline. ? We maintain a list of developers who work with our plugins on our Knowledgebase here:
