Event List Widget – Add Photo to List

Hi,

I want to add the event list widget with a photo much like the attached but a singular event.
Photo at the top and then the event title etc below.
Can this be done? If so how?

I would love to help you with this topic.

The short answer is yes. That can totally be done.

The best way to do this is with a view customizations.
You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.

Basically, you:

1. Make a copy of the view file for the list widget in your theme /tribe-events/ folder
2. You tweak it and can loosely borrow code from other views
3. This override will have priority over the normal list widget

Just to set expectations, the scope of our support is mostly to get our customers started on the right track and to help them in case of issues.

We unfortunately do not provide complete support for customization.
If coding is not your thing, you could hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you.

With that in mind, here is a quick guide to do what you are looking for:

1. Please read the themer’s guide fully (even if you don’t grasp all of it)
2. In your theme, create a /tribe-events/pro/widgets/modules/ folder
3. Copy the /wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro/src/views/pro/widgets/modules/single-event.php file in there
4. Edit that file and borrow line 24 from /wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro/src/views/pro/photo/single-event.php
