Event categories disappeared on new version

Hi.
Having updated recently to the latest version of the Community Events add on , it was been pointed out that the categories have dissappeared.

A new box seems to be used for category entry….. but when selecting it, no categories can be found. See screenshot.

Any ideas? Is this a “feature” of the new version? Many thanks in advacne

I’m sorry that is happening. That does seem odd.

Can you start by going through our Testing for Conflicts Guide https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/?  I am wondering if you might have a plugin or theme conflict.  Begin by deactivating all other plugins, using a theme such as Twenty Seventeen https://wordpress.org/themes/twentyseventeen/, and see if the issue still persists. Also, double check for any other updates available (Dashboard » Updates). 

Can you also confirm that you do have events assigned to categories? Events » Event Categories

Please let me know if the issue still persists after these tests.
