Event Calendar Pro : Default date for mini-calendar-widget

We use a mini-calendar-widget on our front page to show our timetables. At the moment, when a user first goes to the page, there is no date selected and the widget displays four seemingly random events (four is the max we have set to show for a particular day); one date is clicked in events for that day display properly.
Is it possible to make the widget default to today’s date when the user first goes to the page?

Thanks for going Pro and welcome to the forums!

I’m sorry you are having this issue, let me help you with that.

As a start I would like to ask for 2 things:

1. Could you share with me a screenshot of the setting of that widget?

2. Could you possibly run a test for conflicts? Basically what you need to do is switch off all plugins except for the Modern Tribe ones and switch to a default theme like twentysixteen.
