ParticipantWhen I activate the Pro version, the widget sidebar boxes disappear and are replaced by an Archive widget box. The sidebar boxes return when I deactivate the Pro version.
When I set the Calendar page format to sidebar/content, the widget box I set for visibility on the Calendar page does not show but the same Archive widget box does.
I deactivated the other plugins and lost all the widget boxes I had set up!!!!!
I really like this plugin and desperately need the recurring events capability.
Please help me resolve this issue.
Thanks, K

MemberHi there, Karen! So sorry to hear you’re bumping into trouble with your site’s widgets when PRO is activated. Let’s see if we can figure this out together.
Do you happen to have Jetpack installed? We saw a recent issue come in that sounds very similar to what you’re describing and it was related to a compatibility issue with the Jetpack visibility feature.
If that’s the case, then please try the solution that was suggested in this comment of the thread.Β It helped resolve the same issue for several other people who reported it in that thread.
Let’s start with that and proceed from there. π
Cheers!

ParticipantThanks for your prompt reply. Sorry for delay in my response but I’ve been in meetings.
Yes, the forum addresses my problem.
Where do I find the code that needs to be replaced?
And/or where can I download version 3.9?
All my sidebar widgets no longer exist. I have to go back and recreate at least half the site.

ParticipantFound coding (DUH), copied and replaced with ‘new’ code.
Did not resolve my problem.

MemberHi there, Karen! Sorry to hear this iss ue still cropping up, but i’m glad that we can at least pin it to the same experience reported in the other thread.
Let’s try downgrading The Events Calendar and The Events Calendar PRO both to version 3.9.
You can grab The Events Calendar 3.9 here on WordPress.org. You can get The Events Calendar PRO 3.9 by logging into this site and heading over to My Account > Downloads. Select 3.9 from the dropdown and download from the file.
Delete and re-install the plugins from there and let’s see what we find.
Thanks!

ParticipantStarted recreating sidebar boxes and it seems the code fix did work – except not on the calendar page which I can live with.
Thanks for your help and patience, K

MemberMy pleasure! I’m so glad this worked out. Nice work and thanks for following up. π
I’ll go ahead and close this one out, but please feel free to start a new thread if anything else comes up and we’d be happy to help.
Cheers!
