Bart
ParticipantHi,
I would like to reopen this issue (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/event-calendar-page-is-titled-archive/)
Due to an incompatibility between Yoast and Event Calendar, we have our calendar pages appended with the word “Archive” which is confusing. The proposed code does not work anymore since the latest update of Event Calendar 4.0.6.
Any other suggestions?

MemberHello Bart, thanks for following up!
We actually have a nice snippet available that will remove the “Event Archive” label from browser tabs when Yoast is active:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/titles-in-yoast-seo/
Does the solution in there help to the trick for you? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers,

ParticipantNo, it used to work. But now it reverted back to the old situation. My guess is this happens together with the latest update to version 4.0.6
Any other suggestions?

MemberHi Bart,
Digging into this a bit, it seems to be that there was a change in Yoast SEO that prevents the snippet from working. Instead, try heading to SEO > Titles & Metas, then scroll down to the Custom Post Type Archives section.
In that section, there is a place to change the title settings for the Events Archive (screenshot). Delete what is in that field, save the settings and that will put the page title back in a default state–at least, it did on my test site.
Let me know if that works any better, thanks!

ParticipantHi Geoff,
That did not work either. Actually, the info in that field was different than in your screenshot. It read: %%title%% %%page%% %%sep%% %%sitename%%. Also, the title of the field is “Tribe events” and not just “Events” (don’t know if that’s relevant). But deleting it did not remove the “Archive” in the event titles.
Furthermore, when I decided to disable the Yoast plugin, the calendar went completely blank. I could not get it back. Re-enabling Yoast fixed that. What’s this about?
Thanks for your support

MemberHello Bart,
It looks like the “Tribe Events Archive” title is only showing up in the Month View:
http://www.wtnschp.be/events/maand/
All the other views appear to be correct.
Will you please try a couple of things for me:
- Try activating a default WordPress theme (like Twenty Sixteen). Is the title correct when the default theme is active?
- If no, try deactivating all other non-Modern Tribe plugins in addition to switching to a default WordPress theme. Is the title correct in this scenario?
If the answer to both of those last points is no, then please head to Events > Settings > Help, copy the system information at the bottom of the screen, and paste it here as a private reply. That will allow me to check a few more settings and compare them to my test site.
Furthermore, when I decided to disable the Yoast plugin, the calendar went completely blank. I could not get it back. Re-enabling Yoast fixed that. What’s this about?
You may need to flush the permalinks of your site after deactivating Yoast. You do that by heading to Settings > Permalinks and simply clicking the save button without making any changes.
Thanks!
