If month has 30 or 31 days its not exporting events on the last day. They show up on the calendar but an export will not include events for March 31 or April 30.

    Hi Dan,

Thanks for reaching out to us. I will try to help you figure out the problem.

I am unable to reproduce this in my local environment, but downloading your site’s export file, I do see that it is missing the events on the last day of march. I am however able to download the individual ics files for those events and import them into my calendar.

Could you first try checking for theme or plugin conflicts as is described here? After switching to the Twenty Seventeen theme and disabling all non Events Calendar plugins, try exporting the events again and see if the events from march 31st export.

If that doesn’t help, can you enable wp_debug and wp_debug_log as per these instructions and try to generate an error log? It should create a file named “debug.log” in your wp-content directory. Once enabled, navigate to March on the monthly calendar view and export the calendar. Then copy or upload the contents of the debug.log file here.

    Thanks,
    Sky

I have tried deactivating all other plugins and changing the wordpress theme. It has made no difference. I have also seen this same problem on another website as well. We export data from that site to ICS files and import them into our own and it also is not exporting the last day of the month for March or April. You can view it at https://www.jekyllisland.com/events-calendar/2018-03/

I have set the wp_debug values but I’m not seeing the output file.

This used to work just fine. The only thing that has changed has been the updates that have been applied for Event Calendar and Event Calendar Pro on our website. This is causing us real issues with our IOS app who uses the export feature from this calendar.

    Dan,

On the other example site you linked to, all of those events are recurring events. I believe only the first instance of recurring events will be output in the calendar export. This is not ideal, but is due to a limitation in how ical works.

However, the events that aren’t exporting on your site don’t appear to be recurring events. Can you double check that nothing is set in “event series” on those events for me?

    Thanks,
    Sky

In my experience with event calendar it do3s export recurring events. We have some on our calendar and they are exported for each day the event recurs.

This was working perfectly and all events for a month were being exported until recently. So I’m confused. I’m not sure if it was the last plugin updat3s that broke it or the one before. Is it possible to revert to earlier versions of both ebvent calendar and event calendar pro? I wou,d think this is a bug in event calendar … we only got the pro version to better support venues.

I’m not sure what you mean by something set in event series.

By the way… we do nothing with iCal. We put the events in the event calendar and then our iOS app gets the export from your event calendar and parses the ICS file and does it’s own thing with the events. It’s got to be something in the export code. It’s strange that it exports fine fora last day of feb which is the 28th… but when last day is 30or 31 then it’s not exporting that days events.

I believe now that this issue has something to do with Daylight Savings Time… If I go back to December and export the events for that month I get all the events, including the last day. The only difference starting in March is that Daylight Savings Time begins on the second Sunday. Somehow when exporting after DST goes into effect its not accessing the last day of the month.

I have checked adding events to November 30th after DST ends and that works… So I have to wonder did someone just hardcode that March only has 30 days for the export functions? I can find no settings in wordpress or event calendar that would cause this issue. It’s just strange that its only messing up on March 31.

    Dan,

Thanks for the additional info. You are correct and I was mistaken about recurring events not being included in the export.

I am going to ask around to see if I can find some possible causes for this. I will get back to you by tomorrow.

    Thank you for your patience.

    Dan,

I apologize for the delayed response on this. Nobody else I asked has heard of this happening.

Could you please provide me with a database dump of your site? You can use a plugin like this if you’re not sure how to do this. You will likely need to upload to a file sharing service such as dropbox due to the file size, and provide the link here in a private reply.

    Thanks,
    Sky
