ParticipantI am a license holder for The Events Calendar PRO plugin and Community Events add on but I have been having endless issues with my setup since about 2 weeks after the installation.
The first Issue I had was that community events that were submitted through the front end of the website were coming through as happening on the date they were submitted instead of the day that they were actually happening.
The second (and biggest) issue has been that the Events Calendar on our website’s front end has just plain disappeared. If you go to the site now: (atlantajewishtimes.com) all you can see is text that says Community Calendar and the button to submit events but no events show up.
I have a suspicion that this latest issue may be caused by the fact that my three Events Calendar Plugins that are working together will not update to the latest version of your plugin. When I try to update I get this error:
“Update Failed: The update cannot be installed because we will be unable to copy some files. This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions.”
Can anyone give me some guidance on this issue? I haven’t changed anything with the plugins besides regularly updating since they were installed back in August.

MemberHi,
Sorry for the issues you are having. I can help troubleshoot this with you.
I visited your site and the link to submit events takes me to a url with wpengine in it, is that correct?
Also, if you are updating the plugins are plugins should be on 4.0.x or they will not work together.
You can download the latest version from your account here on theeventscalendar.com
and follow these steps for manual updates:
The first Issue I had was that community events that were submitted through the front end of the website were coming through as happening on the date they were submitted instead of the day that they were actually happening.
It is possible it could be a bug, but I have to run into it yet. If you update everything does it work correctly then? Do you have any custom snippets in your theme for the Events Calendar?
Let me know and we can go from here.
Thanks

ParticipantBrian, thanks for responding. I have deactivated and reinstalled Events Calendar Pro and the Community Events plugin. Both are now version 4.0.2.
Do I need to also install the Events Calendar open source plugin? The non PRO version?
I reactivated both of those plugins and the site is having the same issue as before. In my WP dashboard I am not seeing the “EVENTS” menu anymore.
What do you advise me to do now?

ParticipantHere’s an update Brian, I tried to reinstall the base Events Calendar Plugin and received this message. Any thoughts?

MemberHi,
Yes all the plugins require the free version of the Events Calendar. That must be installed and active.
That error you are getting is because WordPress will not overwrite an existing plugin.
Follow these steps instead for manual updates:

ParticipantBrian, I already followed the instructions you gave me for manual updates but it will still not allow me to install the free version of Events Calendar even though I have deleted it from my dashboard.
What’s going on? There must be another solution.

MemberHi,
If it is still giving you the error. You would have to go into the plugin directory and make sure all copies of the events calendar are removed.
Since it sounds like WordPress is still find one there.

ParticipantHey Brian, I have been trying to figure out how to fix this for a few days now. I have deleted everything related to the Events Calendar from the Plugin directory and I still get the same error message.
There must be another solution to this issue.
Hope to hear back from you soon,

MemberHi,
Sorry for the late reply. I was out for Christmas.
I am not sure what else to say if you are getting the same message then either you are in the wrong directory or there is a renamed directory you missed that still have the events calendar.
Do you see the plugin listed in the plugin listing in your Admin?
