Event and place import

Hello,

We have to import several thousand events every day with their venues.
Since the event is linked to the venue only with normal recording, and when linking is not possible, I am looking for a way to link these two.

Installed are “The Event Calaendar” and “The Event Calaendar PRO”.

In the import files, each location has a unique event_id.
Each event includes the same event_id.
In the case of a regular import, the event_id is not taken over for the venue, but instead is set by the system independently on its own = post_id.
Thus, a link is not possible during the import.

My thoughts are as follows:
I have entered the existing event_id in the “Phone” field of the event location.
This field is not used by us and can therefore be used for linking.

Where do I have to make the appropriate changes in Main.php (“The Event Calaendar” or “The Event Calaendar PRO”) so that the changes work on all pages?
Or do I have to rewrite the individual files? If yes, which?

What is the solution to the problem?

I’m sorry to say we are limited in supporting and doing customization like the above. I believe that would require some major coding work.

Still, I would like to recommend the following article for reading:

and would like to point out the following paragraph which might be of help to you:

“If you are planning to import venue and organizer information with your events, then you will need to import the CSV file for those venues and organizers before importing events. This will ensure that the data for both venues and organizers is available so Event Aggregator knows what information to associate with an event when it is imported.”
