ParticipantI previously post this same error here. https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/stop-import/
I followed the instructions and went back to the old version as some in the thread above.
I have since upgraded again and it is doing the same thing. When in the import tab, the progress bar is just spinning but with no progress at all. However, there are events that are being imported as I can see the published events count go up. (they don’t even go into a pending status) As I poured over the events, I see one that just keeps going in at the same time, date, title and everything. I delete and also hide and ignore and it just keeps coming back. 53 times the last time I looked to remove. As you can see from my previous thread, it is very frustrating. I am desperate for some guidance.

MemberHi Charles,
Oh my, that is not good and I’m really sorry for the trouble. Duplicated events on a recurring, non-stop basis is never a good thing, especially when the calendar is a significant component of your site. Let’s figure this out.
First off, would be willing to share the settings for the scheduled import that is going haywire? Also, if you are able to provide the URL of the source you are importing from, that should give me everything I need to get the same issue happening on my test site so I can dig into this deeper.
I know that having this issue happen is not ideal and it sounds like you had success before by reverting to a previous version of the plugin. If you would like to revert once again simply as a temporary solution while we figure this out together, that would be totally fine. In fact, I would suggest doing that if it does indeed help resolve the issue in the meantime.
Thanks,

ParticipantThank you for the reply. I would be happy to share setting, however after pouring over things this morning. I found this ical to be the issue. https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/cg1gaa5fll0l71582v9hs6imtujqsujl%40import.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics
Specifically, the event Ghostly Tour for October 8th. It would continue to load that event over and over even as it was the date. I removed that import and things have now calmed down. Today is the first day I am able to use and experiment with events aggregator.I share that link anyway in hopes that you may see if there is an issue to help others.

MemberAwesome, that is a huge help, Charles, and I appreciate it! I will certainly keep this iCal link on file along with your information to see if we notice any patterns that emerge in line with other reports of possible bugginess.
I’d hate to close this thread without first making sure you’re all good for now — did you have any other questions about the haywire event that I can help answer? Please let me know and I’d be happy to help as best I can.
Cheers and have a great weekend!
Geoff

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
