GuestHi,
We are looking for a good solution to import events on Event Calendar, so we’re thinking about trying Event Aggregator. Would you be able to give me more information on how the tool actually works in the background?
I’m working on a WordPress site that can only be accessed inside our company’s intranet. We’d like to import events from our Exchange server. So communicating internally between our sites and servers is fairly easy, but as soon as we try to use plugins that need to communicate with external servers, difficulties may arise. I’m not the network expert though, but I can get more info if it helps to answer my question.
I was hoping to find out more from you about how the process works first, to determine if the Event Aggregator can be suitable for us. I assume, seeing as the plugin works through a subscription-model and has a lot of handy importing features, like handling duplicates, event IDs etc, the events are being imported via an external server? I wasn’t really able to find out more about this far.
I hope my questions make sense. Please let me know if you need more information or clarification.
Thanks
Julia

MemberHi there Julia,
Thanks for getting in touch with us and for your interest in our products 🙂
Event Aggregator is actually a service built into The Events Calendar. It works with an online API which process the different services authorizations (Facebook, Meetup) and process the events feed before importing. This means it needs to reach the service endpoint (URL) to import events from external sources.
The options I see here, is to ask the intranet admins to allow external calls to the Aggregator service (ea.theeventscalendar.com). DO you think that’s possible?
Also while we don’t have a trial period, you can go ahead and purchase the products for testing. Maybe that helps in this case. If you decide they are not what you are looking for, you can ask for a full refund within 30 days of purchase. For more information take a look at our refund policy.
Please let me know if I can be of further help,
Best,

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
