    Hi there,

Clicking on edit or add new event from the admin dashboard brings me to a blank screen. I have tried turning on debug mode – but nothing is shown. Any ideas on why this is happening? I can use the quick edit to publish events – but this is not enough for alot of our submissions that need further editing.

    Thank you!

    Hi. Yikes.

Please follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide and see if that helps narrow down the cause of this.

Let us know what you find out. I hope it’s good news.

    Thanks.

    HI there,

I have tried testing it with the default twenty fifteen theme but it makes no difference.

I have had some luck on our staging server when turning off Toolset WP Types / or WP Views. However it is intermittent. For example I can turn off one of the other plug-in and be able to edit an event. But then if I turn them back on again I still can edit an event… however after some time has passed with them both on I can no longer edit or add an event again.

It seems very strange and hard to pin down – especially without the debugging showing. The address it takes me to and hangs at with the blank screen is: …/wp-admin/post.php?post=31247&action=edit

Unfortunatly my site heavily relies on both The Events Calender and Toolset (for our directories). This is not a new site and has used these plug-ins together since it was rebuilt onto the WP platform about 3 years ago. It is only just now after the update that this issue has started, and is making it incredibly difficult to publish or add new content to our event guides which is something we would be doing daily.

    Thank you.

Thanks for testing and sharing your findings.

It sounds like you’re testing on your live site, which makes sense. However, your browser, site, and/or server (even some staging servers) could have cache, cookies, and other things affecting why you might only be able to detect things intermittently. (Never fun to deal with this, I know.)

We don’t have any known conflicts with wp-types.com’s plugins, but which of their plugins do you use (Types, Views, CRED, etc)?

Additional things you may try looking for in your testing:

    • try other browsers (preferably freshly-cleared cache, cookies, etc)
    • are there any Chrome Console errors on any page loads, especially on the pages you’re experiencing issues with?
    • do you have Types set to control anything with the Events, Organizers, or Venues post types or custom fields? What about their CRED forms plugin?

I hope to help you resolve this ASAP.

Please let me know what you discover.

    Thanks!

Hi there I found this thread and also some reference to similar issues on the Toolset site, might be of help? I will also post my issue there.

    https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic%2Ffields-not-updating/?source=tri.be#post-42344

I have also now tried using different browsers, and clearing cache, but still cannot edit an event. There were no Chrome console errors – just a blank screen again. I have also looked through Types, Views, Cred and Toolset Access settings and all custom fields etc… but nothing is controlling events. Tried turing Toolset Access on for events but that also did not change anything.

I have tested on my live site AND my staging server (with is the same server with WPengine)

    I’m stumped!

Thanks for trying so many things and providing the link and additional info.

I was hoping you’d find something definitive in all that testing. However, since you didn’t, please follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide and see if that helps narrow down the cause of this.

Let us know what you find out.

    Thanks.

So I have been through this process and can confirm that the TWO plug-ins causing the conflict are Toolset WPTypes and Toolset WPViews.

Turning either one on with The Events Calendar plug-in will case the issue. No other plug-ins cause a problem. The theme has no effect either.

Sorry for the delayed response. I’m not sure what else to suggest. Many people use several Toolset plugins with our plugins.

Please provide a screencast video of what you’re experiencing.

If you’d like, you can provide us with a database dump too.

    Thank you.

Hi again. Just wanted to let you know that after the most recent updates for both plugins I am not experiencing this issue anymore. Not sure why – but happy anyway! Thanks for all your help.
