ParticipantThe update to 3.12.1 had a drastic effect on our University’s multisite. For some reason, it rewrote the majority of URLs in our Appearance Menus, as well as vanilla hyperlinks in standard WP content, to the following:
This resulted in our having to perform a complete restore to the previous day’s code + DB snapshot.

ParticipantHey,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
I tried recreating this be taking the following steps:
- I created a new menu on a main site within a multisite that included pages, events, custom links, and event category archive
- I created a menu on a subsite within that same network that included the same type of links above.
- I upgraded my Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO to 3.12.2 and 3.12.1 respectively.
- I went back and checked all the menu items and the URLs were the same as when originally created and linked properly to the event.
Based on those steps, am I following the right steps based on the issue you’re noticing on your site? It’s very much possible that I might not be fully understanding the issue you’re describing.
If this looks right, an initial step would be to follow the Testing for Conflicts procedures to ensure there isn’t a conflict at play with an existing plugin.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!

ParticipantThanks, Josh. You understood us correctly.
We’re currently attempting to devise a means of replicating the issue with a full version of our site; this effort has been hampered by an issue with MySQL exports on our hosted CMS. However, we would like to point out that the permalink corruption did occur on local dev as well as production (we just didn’t catch the issue in time before pushing the update live; our bad).

ParticipantHey,
Thanks for following up with us! Let me know if you notice anything different when trying to replicate. Following the steps I took above I was unable to replicate the issue on my current multisite installation.
Let me know if there is anything else that I can help with in the meantime.
Thanks!

ParticipantAfter attempting the upgrade to TEC and ECP/Filter Bar 3.12.x (in several environments), we still can’t replicate the URL corruption. Could just be a fluke occurrence, but something to look out for.

ParticipantHey,
Thanks for following up with us here!
Definitely very strange issue for sure. I’ll go ahead and close this thread for now. If the issue crops up again in the future, please don’t hesitate to open a new thread.
Thanks!
