I’m going to basically paste the exact same issue I had back in March. You can check the thread here–https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/continued-time-zone-problems-imported-via-ics-file/.

I’m importing an iCalendar feed. This is one of the URLs I’m using, http://api.serviceu.com/rest/events/occurrences?departmentIds=69388&nextDays=300&orgKey=d2ce7f80-931f-44f2-ad5f-d994c0997643&format=iCal.

I have set up a localhost development site on my local computer. Screen shot of the import preview included. Also a screen shot of one of the events where you can see that the event time that was imported is definitely different from the actual event time.

Schedules have prevented me from thoroughly testing this until now. I realize the EA service was updated in May. I have a local environment with ONLY TEC and TEC Pro running. Didn’t even install Filter Bar, even though we have a license.

I’m currently testing the Timely plugin and will likely request a refund of TEC due to the ongoing time zone issue. We first identified, purchased and installed this product one year ago. There was a very brief period using the Import add-on that the bug was gone (and that old, outdated TEC and add-on runs on our website).

I must admit that I’m using twentysixteen as my theme. But, I can’t imagine that is the cause of the problem.

I also have a test site with WP Engine where this exact problem has been duplicated.

Teri, I’m glad you were able to move forward with this.

I looked into that past issue you linked to and looked into the .ics link you shared and it appears to be working as expected. For example, here’s an excerpt from the .ics file for the first event there:

    BEGIN:VEVENT
    DTEND:20170814T210000Z
    DTSTART:20170814T170000Z
LOCATION:Main Event: 1441 W Memorial Road Oklahoma City OK 73114
    SUMMARY:MS Back To School Event
    UID:382199561
    END:VEVENT

The DTSTART and DTEND are what are being read by Event Aggregator and the “Z” at the end means that time is in UTC time.

It sounds like you understand this and things are actually working fine for you at this time.

Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions on this topic.

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
