Duplicating recurring events

    Hi there,

    We recently updated to the latest version and have been seeing issues with recurring events. Essentially, these are being duplicated in the admin so instead of a single instance of an event.. Im seeing multiple (30-40) in some instances.

    I came across this article:

    It looks as thought this bug has not yet been fixed. Could we please get an update on progress?

    Update – As we needed a resolution fairly quickly, we ended up having to manually delete 800 events (there should have been 50) and re-import all events from a backup site. Seems ok for the moment.

    So far we have seen a number of issues which is a shame, the plugin used to be fairly solid but seeing more and more problems these days. Another issue we have just spotted is that Ajax loading doesn’t work when moving to the next page of events, it simply reloads the same page over and over. (does this with the default theme also).

    I’ll close this thread and start a new one if we can’t resolve it ourselves.

    We are sorry to hear about the issue you encountered.
    Major kudos on finding a workaround.

    So far we have seen a number of issues which is a shame, the plugin used to be fairly solid but seeing more and more problems these days.

    I am truly sorry to hear that as we do take that aspect of our plugins really seriously.
    In fact, we have put more efforts than ever towards that goal in the last 6 months.

    If you don’t mind, please report each glitch you bump into in separate threads. This way we can make sure to address every single one of them.

    Another issue we have just spotted is that Ajax loading doesn’t work when moving to the next page of events, it simply reloads the same page over and over. (does this with the default theme also).

    This sounds like either a server performance issue or some type of conflict (perhaps with another plugin).

     

    The next step would be to go through our testing for conflicts procedure and let us know what you find out.

    Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.

    But, before you do that, there are 2 things I would advise:

    1. Make a backup of your database
    2. Consider activating a “Maintenance Page” plugin if you are doing this on your live site (to minimize impact on your visitors)

     

    As per your suggestion, please open a separate thread if that proves unsuccessful.
