ParticipantI have run into a snag with recurring events in Pro that I can’t fix independently.
After setting up a number of recurring events, which initially worked really well, I needed to go back and change their category and visibility on listings.
As I was doing this, I began to notice that the same occurrence of each recurring event is being listed twice with the same date (in both the Events admin and in the front end [if you click the “Show all” link for the recurring event]). Also the first time I was editing an event the message at the top would say “14 instances of this event have been created through February 13 2016”, as soon as I changed the category it changed to “27 instances of this event have been created through February 13 2016”.
Looking through previous support questions, I found your hot fix for merging duplicated recurring events. I tried running that but it didn’t change the doubling up at all.
Can you help me resolve this issue?
Thanks
Peter

MemberHi Peter,
I’m sorry you’re hitting difficulties.
I tried creating a new recurring event, returned to it and modified the visibility and assigned a new category but could not replicate what you have described. For the avoidance of any doubt, can you detail the steps to replicate one-by-one in case I’m missing something?
I also wonder if you could run through our complete troubleshooting steps (including switching to a default theme) and let me know if the issue still occurs when you try creating new events with nothing but our plugins running. Is that possible here?

ParticipantHaving looked into this further, it seems that events that were imported from a csv source exhibit this behaviour, those that were generated in the cms do not.

MemberOK. Is it something you can reliably reproduce via the CSV importer – and would it be possible to see one of the CSV files if so (unless you’re happy with things, I see you marked the issue as resolved)?

ParticipantIt’s OK for now thanks – have worked around it.

MemberOK, great.
I’ll close out this topic in that case – but of course if anything else crops up please don’t hesitate to create a new topic and one of the team will be only too happy to help 🙂
Thanks again!
