    Hi,

We are getting a lots of venues duplicated. As we post about 20 events daily, it is becoming a real issue. Please let us know if there is an option to merge the duplicate venues. As we have over 300 venues listed, it will be really hard to manage it manually.

Hello and welcome to the premium support forums!

We have a setting built-in which hopefully alleviates the duplicate venue issue you’re encountering. Visit Events > Settings > General Settings and look for the ‘Duplicate Venues & Organizers‘ option ‘Merge Duplicates‘. Try hitting that button and let me know if it helps address the issue. (see screenshot below)

Thanks for choosing PRO and have a great rest of your day.
    Cheers!

Sorry, there was a link before …. but i used it once… now there is no link …. whenever we create a new venue or organizer we get a duplicate entry. It seems to be a bug . We are also getting following errors:

[03-Jul-2016 17:50:13 UTC] PHP Warning: Creating default object from empty value in /home/…../public_html/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/src/Tribe/JSON_LD/Venue.php on line 51

    Welcome back 🙂

Does the duplicate venue/organizer occur while testing as outlined in our Testing for conflicts guide?

We are aware of the errors provided. Do you currently have ‘WP_DEBUG’ set to ‘true’? If so, set that to ‘false’. You’ll also need to set ‘WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY’ to ‘false’ so the errors don’t show on the front end. More information can be found here.

I’ve attached this forum thread to the logged bug report, so keep an eye on your wp-admin and theeventscalendar.com/blog for maintenance release info. Thank you for keeping me updated with your progress and have a good day.

    Cheers!

    Hey there,

We wanted to follow-up to let you know that we were able to patch this up in The Events Calendar 4.2.2, which is now available to download and install if you haven’t done so already.

Please do be sure to check out our release notes for a full overview of what’s new in the release and feel free to let us know if you run into this or any other issues after the update.

Thanks so much for your patience while we worked on this!

    Cheers,
    Geoff

Still duplicate venues and organizers. Its messing up with the seo too. Please suggest if its possible to delete duplicates and how to stop it from happening?

    Hi and welcome back,

Sorry to hear you’re still experiencing troubles. The fix Geoff mentioned is referring to the errors you provided, not the duplicate venues and organizers. Does the duplicate venue/organizer occur while testing as outlined in our Testing for conflicts guide guide?

Thanks for the update and take care!

    Hey @Divaker,

While you continue to work with Hunter here on the duplication issues, I just wanted to see if you could confirm whether or not the 4.2.2 release of The Events Calendar did at least help with those error messages you reported?

    Let us know! 😀

    Thank you,
    George
