Team,
Previous thread started where the issue was NOT resolved before closed -> https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/duplicate-events-some-facebook-sources/
Continuing from last thread and updated notes:
– It’s been about 2 months since I reported the original issue; Life got in the way and now getting back to this.
– Today I updated to version 4.4.17
– Using the month of October as an example i’m seeing a few events that are getting duplicated. I can confirm with at least one example that the event was created/published AFTER i had updated to the event calendar PRO version that was have supposed to have fixed duplicate events (i.e. version 4.5.10). I have a detailed example in a .docx file I can send with screen shots when someone replies.Other Suggestions or thoughts?
thanks,
Brandon
October 3, 2017 at 5:08 am #1358203AndrasKeymasterHello Brandon, welcome back!
Thanks for opening a new thread. Let’s continue then where we left off.
Sorry to hear that you are still having duplication issues.
Could you then please share the doc you mentioned? I’d love to take a look.
Are you experiencing the duplication issue with all of the threads that you shared before?
Thanks,
AndrasOctober 5, 2017 at 9:19 am #1359652Brandon WarnerParticipantAndras,
See attached document I mentioned. I only referenced one example but here are a few more sources I’m seeing duplication with

Short Answer -> No. However missing events.

October 6, 2017 at 10:22 am #1360476AndrasKeymasterHi Brandon,
I’m trying to import those 2 feeds, but at the moment I’m having issues with getting a preview. I’ll keep trying.
The attachment got lost on the way. Unfortunately attachments sent via email get discarded. Can you please log and upload the file directly in the forums, or can you share it via some cloud service? Thanks.
However missing events.
Are these events far in the future? We have introduced a new limit option for imports which you can find under Events > Settings > Imports tab. Check if that’s the cause.
Also, last week we have published a maintenance release of The Events Calendar that contains further fixes for Event Aggregator. Would be great if you could update and give it a check.
Cheers,

Thanks for the update.
1. Just waned to make sure you looked at the email that was in the folder too. The body of the email has more examples AFTER i had already written the WORD doc.
2. Another example to test:
Duplicate Event URL -> https://sustainablenorthflorida.org/events/oyster-roast-featured-artist-reception-2/
Import URL -> https://www.facebook.com/pg/stjohnsriverkeeper/events/?ref=page_internal3. Should i not remove any duplicate events while you are still testing?
thank you,
October 13, 2017 at 7:11 am #1363176AndrasKeymasterHi Brandon,
Thanks for the heads up. Yes, I checked the email as well.
I tested the Oyster Roast as well. It imported 3 times by now on schedule without any duplication so far.
Can you share with me a screenshot about your Event Update Authority settings? You can find that under Events > Settings > Imports tab.
Thanks!
If you could leave one duplicate that would be great. Let me know which one.

– I put the screen shot of event update authority settings in the google drive link I sent in the private post
– in terms of leaving one duplicate there are a few still on the site. Here are a couple. I’m not removing them until we figure it out ? . Although it looks like the duplicates are thining out which is good but still no root cause analysis.
1A – https://sustainablenorthflorida.org/events/oyster-roast-featured-artist-reception/
1B – https://sustainablenorthflorida.org/events/oyster-roast-featured-artist-reception-2/2A – https://sustainablenorthflorida.org/events/2017-oyster-roast/
2B – https://sustainablenorthflorida.org/events/2017-oyster-roast-2/Brandon
October 20, 2017 at 5:04 am #1366399AndrasKeymasterHi Brandon,
Thanks for hanging in there, I know this is taking long. EA imports are rather a complicated issue and we are continuously working on the plugin and the service to make it more and more reliable.
That said, this week we pushed out an update on The Events Calendar, as well as did an internal update on Event Aggregator. (Note: EA is dependent on TEC and not EC PRO.)
I’m happy to hear the duplicates are getting less. Hope this trend continues. 🙂
A thought that I had now thinking about duplicates, if you leave the duplicate there (e.x. 1B), when the import runs again, does it again create a duplicate (like oyster-roast…-3) or does it update the ‘oyster-roast…-2’?

October 23, 2017 at 12:10 pm #1367655johnsnowParticipantI can chime in here, since we are also getting event duplication for only some events. Each time, the duplicates add the suffix as an increasing number -2, -3, -4, etc. Happy to provide specific examples for compare/contrast.
October 24, 2017 at 3:06 am #1367941AndrasKeymasterHi @johnsnow,
Thanks for chiming in. I’m sorry you are experiencing this as well.
I’d like to ask you to open a separate topic and reference this one, so we can track it separately. Also please:
- share your system information
- share a feed url that’s producing duplicates
- share a full database dump with me, I’d like to take a look at it to see if I find something
So far I’m not getting duplicates with my setup. @Brandon, could you also share a db dump with me?
Thanks!
AndrasNovember 5, 2017 at 7:26 am #1375535Brandon WarnerParticipantAndras,
Not sure how to do a DB dump and if I really want to share all the information. I’d like to monitor from this point.
As of today 11.5.2017 : I uploaded a picture of the versions i’m on and here is what I’m seeing for the next few months
– Nov: Only Oyster Roast is duplicated for Nov 17th but that is something we have known about and I have NOT removed so as not to impact our analysis.
– Dec: Thin on events but NO duplicates
– Jan: Only 1 duplicate event
— https://sustainablenorthflorida.org/events/2018-florida-coasts-ocean-day/
— https://sustainablenorthflorida.org/events/2018-florida-coasts-ocean-day-2/
– Feb: Thin on events but NO duplicatesNovember 6, 2017 at 4:50 am #1375917AndrasKeymasterSure Brandon, I can totally understand if you don’t want to share the data. No worries.
Happy to hear there are even less duplicates. Let’s keep monitoring then. And you can get back to me any time if they come back.
I will leave the topic open so you can post a reply.
Please note though, if there is no interaction in the thread for 3 weeks, it will be closed automatically. If that should happen, then open a new thread and copy the url of this one in the post, and we can pick up where we left off.
Keeping my fingers crossed.
Cheers,
AndrasNovember 28, 2017 at 8:36 am #1393771Support DroidKeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
