I’m on the most recent version of Events Calendar Pro. I noticed per the User Voice suggestion
https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/4136552-always-show-the-buttons-to-merge-duplicate-organizthat this problem was fixed in 4.1. But, the merge button still doesn’t show for me.
I have lots of duplicate venues and would like to merge them. What is the best way to get the button back?

August 21, 2017 at 10:05 pm #1338408CliffMemberHi. It should appear at wp-admin > Events > Settings > General tab > “General Settings” section > “Duplicate Venues & Organizers” option/button
Please double-check and let me know if you can find this option/button.

August 24, 2017 at 4:59 am #1339617mdreherParticipantNo. I have used the merge function previously, so I know about it. I think I used it around version 3.1 or so. After I used it once, I’ve not seen that button since.

Did you do some manual updates or skip quite a few versions along the way (like updating from v3 to v4 without all the minor updates in between)?
As of The Events Calendar version 4.1, the merge button should always appear. However, there was an option in the database called ‘organizer_venue_amalgamation’ that disabled this button, and I’m guessing that’s still set in your database.
Here’s a code snippet to override this option from your database https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/dublicate-venues/#post-1253363, which should make the button appear again.

August 24, 2017 at 6:33 am #1339677CliffMemberI actually checked with our developers and the v4.1 changelog said this button should always show, but the code didn’t actually implement it… so I’ll mark this ticket as Pending Fix, which means this thread should receive a reply once the applicable fix has been released (the fix is to always show the button).
I cannot guarantee when it will be fixed as it’s in the development team’s hands now. They need to assign it, code it, test it, and schedule it for release.
Leaving that code snippet in place should do the trick until this fix is released.
