ParticipantHello, everytime I import my ical feed using the reoccurring import feature, I get duplicates.
I’m on the third attempt where I’ve had to manually delete duplicate events. I can’t spend more time on this without asking if you have any solutions.
I’m importing using a google calendar ical url, and each event gets imported twice. What should I do?
Thanks in advance.

MemberHi,
Sorry for the late reply here.
I can help troubleshoot this with you.
How is the ical importer setup? Is it a recurring import? Are you doing one time imports?
Is every event doubling up or only certain events?
Can you provide the url for the import in a private reply?
Let me know and we can go from here.
Thanks

MemberHi,
Thanks for that link. I have set it up in my site for testing.
What is the recurring settings you are using? Is is set to import every hour or something else?
Do you have it set to Pending, Published, or draft on import?
Do you have any custom snippets you have added for the events calendar?
Let me know.
Thanks

MemberOk I did some more research into this and it appears recurring events in the feed are using the dates in the first event so they look like duplicates.
These Events Duplicated for me from your feed:
Student lecture January 20th
Behaviour consultancy January 28th
Thinking Matters – behaviour for families February 4th
Behaviour management March 8thAre you seeing those duplicate as well? Are you seeing any others?
Let me know thanks.

ParticipantThank you for looking into this for me Brian.
I am seeing the events that you mentioned as duplicates.
I’ve tried it at 30 minute import and got duplicates, so I started over from scratch and tried 1 hour as well.
I have a little over 400 events on my google calendar, and about 850 events on my WordPress.
Every event is being posted twice.Hopefully this info helps, I’ll be glad to answer anything else that you might need.
Cheers.

MemberHi,
From that feed your provided I am only able to import 36 events.
Do you have other ical feeds you are importing from?
Due you have multiple imports for the same feeds?
Can you provide a screen shot of all your recurring feeds? Or more information about them.
Thanks

MemberHi,
Thanks for the information.
It looks like this is a bug with recurring events and this is what is happening.
The iCal importer detects recurring event, but instead of using the events date and time it uses the first upcoming instance of that recurring event. So it looks like it is duplicating, but it is really just using the wrong event date and time.
We have a bug report in the system to address this and will the information your provided that will help us resolve this. I do not have a timeline when that might happen though.
I know that can be a deal breaker, but please note we do have a 30 day refund policy:
Thanks

ParticipantThanks for the assistance.
Unfortunately I may have to consider a refund, although I love the functionality of the plugin, and there aren’t many if any alternatives.
Do you guys know of any ways to work around this?
I wouldn’t mind if it took me a long time to set it up, as long as it would consistently continue to import. Please let me know if you have any other suggestions, thank you kindly for your support.

MemberHi,
We do not have a work around for this.
Our developers are looking into fixing it, but not able to get it working reliably still and I do not have a timeline for when it might be fixed.
