ParticipantHello,
Thanks for the great plugin. I have a few questions:
1) Google Maps: I would like to display Google Maps on other pages too than only on the events page. Is there any shortcut or php code for that? Furthermore I would like to display the complete country (Austria) rather than only focus on events in the map. Is that possible?
2) Location for specific users: At the moment every user can choose or create any location they want. In the administration panel at user-edit.php, I want to choose only one location for each user which is automatically selected if they create a new event. They should not have the ability to choose or create another location. Is that possible in any way?
Thank you very much.
Best regards,

MemberHello Marc! Welcome back to the forums and thanks for the kind words. I’m stoked you’ve been enjoying the plugin. 🙂
Good questions. Let’s tackle them one at a time…
1) Google Maps: I would like to display Google Maps on other pages too than only on the events page.
There currently is no shortcode or snippet that will help embed Venue maps on other posts and pages right out of the box. However, it might be worth checking out a third-party plugin like this one to help give you an easy shortcode for maps in general.
2) Location for specific users
Oooh, interesting idea. I like the way you’re thinking here and wish I could say this was possible. It may very well be achievable with a high level of custom development, but I’m afraid the plugin doesn’t offer it right out of the box.
I see in a previous thread that you use a role manager plugin. Is it possible for you to use that to restrict the ability for some roles to create new venues, then set a default venue in Events > Settings > Default Content? I know that won’t dynamically set a venue on a per-user basis, but I imagine it would get you a lot closer to what you’re looking for.
Cheers!

ParticipantHello Geoff,
indeed, I like the plugin very much :). The customer has very specific ideas of how the new website should look and work. The problem is that it has to feature exactly these functions. I am not the best programmer out there, but I can handle a little bit of php code.
Do you can give me something I can work with? Maybe I can write my own add on/plugin for this purpose.
Thanks!

MemberHi Marc, thanks for following up!
I don’t have code that will specifically address this, but I do have this snippet which might be a good starting place for you. It is a working example of how to remove events-related permissions from specific WP roles. Will this help give you some ground to work with?
Thanks!
