    Hi there!

My client has a free nonprofit license which they use for PRO. It has been working fine for a while though it seems to have run into a problem recently.

Anytime I’m on the Updates screen, I’m told a PRO update is available and I need to license the plugin. I then go to Events > Settings > License and enter their license. I’m told that it’s valid (green text) until sometime in 2025 or so. When I go back to the updates screen, I see the same message. Upon returning to the Licenses screen, the license field is empty again. Repeat, ad nauseum.

    Hi,

Sorry for the issues you are having. I can help troubleshoot this with you.

Many times the issue is saving before a valid message is shown, so the key saves, but it is not saving that it is valid.

Can you please confirm you are following all these steps:

    Visit License Tab
    Enter License Key
You get a Green License Valid Message
After you get the message you are then clicking “Save Changes”
Then you get a “License key(s) updated.” message near the top of the page.

Also you can can always download the latest version from your account here on theeventscalendar.com and use this guide for manual updates:

    Manual Updates

Let me know if it is not working after following those steps and we can do some troubleshooting steps next.

    Thanks

    Aha! That did it.

At least in Win 10, latest Chrome, the paste event doesn’t seem to trigger your license validation check. Clicking outside of the box (but not on the save settings button) did. I had been pasting and then immediately cicking “Save” so that the license never got activated (and yet it was somehow on the next page load).

Thanks for the help. You might look into what other JS events can trigger the license activation to avoid this for more people.

Great, glad you got it to work and thanks for the feedback on it, I am going to go ahead and close this ticket, but if you need help on this or something else please post a new ticket.

    Thanks!
