GuestI have 2 quick questions:
1 – It seems PRO doesn’t INCLUDE the Filter Bar, and it’s an additional $89 to get that feature, correct?
2 – Does PRO offer the ability to search Organizers? Our wordpress theme wouldn’t pull organizer names (the slot we place speaker names) when the search was used. The only thing the search pulled was the titles of events. Does PRO offer the ability to search the ENTIRE event listing? And if not, I assume that’s what the Filter Bar is for? But I won’t need PRO do use that bar, correct? Please let me know which route is best.
Thanks!

MemberGood evening Ashley and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!
Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.1 – It seems PRO doesn’t INCLUDE the Filter Bar, and it’s an additional $89 to get that feature, correct?
That is correct.
2 – Does PRO offer the ability to search Organizers? Our wordpress theme wouldn’t pull organizer names (the slot we place speaker names) when the search was used. The ability to search organizers is not contained in Pro itself.
But, the good news is that you are more than welcome to tweak things to meet your needs. The reason why Organizers are not showing up in search is because the default search functionality is meant to return events, not the organizer taxonomy.
You can read about that here: https://theeventscalendar.com/customizations/
If coding is not really your cup of tea, you could always hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you.
Here are a couple of articles to get you started:
- https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/using-tribe_get_events/
- https://gist.github.com/cliffordp/b9cde5ad57eecefca3bcd578fc5e6a61#file-functions-php
The Filter Bar does not extend search functionalities either, but makes access to the organizers much simpler and no, you do not need the Events Calendar Pro for this to work.
In the end, the preferred solution will depend on you.
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
