ParticipantHi,
The Default mobile view setting on Events Calendar is not working for me. I’m trying to put the (desktop) default view on Month and the default mobile view on List but the mobile view mirrors the desktop default list no matter what I set the default mobile view on.
This is the theme I am using:

Thanks,

ParticipantI see now the problem is not just that I can’t force the mobile view to display a different calendar view than the desktop view. On mobile, my site is trying to show the whole desktop calendar rather than hitting the “responsive breakpoint” and switching to the mobile version of the monthly view, which is ideally what we would want. Please, really need help.
Thanks,
Wayne

ParticipantHey Wayne,
So strange! This is the second mobile breakpoint issue I’ve come across today, though this is the opposite of the other client (his is only displaying in mobile styles!) Let’s see what we can do here:
This is clearly a styling issue, so let’s try to isolate it:
1. I’d recommend first trying some of the other options under “Events>Settings>Display>Default stylesheet used for events templates.” See if one of the other settings solves your problem. (This is the easy fix.)
2. If that doesn’t help, test for conflicts to see if it is a problem with the theme or with one of your plugins.
Let me know how that goes, and we’ll work on it from there!
Cheers,
Shelby 🙂May 15, 2017 at 10:32 pm #1284213Wayne
ParticipantHi Shelby,
Thanks for the reply. I believe this is a conflict with the theme. I’ve switched to Edin and there was no conflict. Changing Default Stylesheet used for events templates has no effect. It won’t display any mobile views on mobile whether it’s list, monthly, etc. In fact, the layouts for the single day event listings are very different and less usable on both desktop and mobile than those on the Events Calendar website:

With some help, I was able to get the map under the event details so you don’t have to scroll over it and “fall in” to see the particulars, but it is still pretty messy…would sure prefer to have your style!
Thanks,
Wayne

ParticipantHi Wayne,
This kind of a change would require some customization, which unfortunately we can’t support on these forums as there are thousands of themes and endless configurations for sites within WordPress.
However, I REALLY want to try and get you on the right track making these changes, so I think you may find these resources helpful.
- We have some resources for making changes here in our Themer’s Guide.Â
- If you need to find someone to help with the customizations, we also have some tips for finding help here.
Finally, I think you may find these resources about selectively disabling parent theme styles helpful:
Hope this helps!
Thanks,

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
