    Hi there,

For several clients/websites I have to make a decision which events plugin I am going to use. I am already using several free versions of several plugins, so I have some experience. However, because of the clients’ requirements we need to buy a licence for a pro version.

Therefor I have investigated in depth a couple of events plugins.

The problem that I have with a free version of The Events Calendar is that existing events change timings when there is a change of summer/winter time (see also this topic). It is said by you that there will be a solution soon, however during further research I found the same kind of topics also from 3 and 4 years ago.

I am not aware if this problem was solved meanwhile and showed up later, but it does not really increase my trust in The Events Calendar (Pro) to buy this for my clients I’m afraid.

If I buy a products for my clients, I cannot see afterwards “Oh yes sorry, this is a bug in the plugin you paid for. Now you have to update all your current events…”

Can you give me any kind of guarantee that this issue is going to be solved soon? And when it will be solved?

    Thanks for your advise!

    Best regards,
    Monique

    Hi there,

After such a long search and not having found any solution, I might have just bumped into the correct solution for this issue. I believe it has to do with the timezones settings: Use local timezone for each event.

Anyway it seems to have solved the issue on the website with the free version, so I assume this will also be the case with the PRO version?

If that’s the case, my problem in that respect is solved too.

    Thanks & regards,
    Monique

    Hi,

Thanks for the interest in our plugins. I can answer your questions.

The Pro version uses the settings from the free version for timezones. So if it works in the free version it should carry over to Pro.

The only issue we have had with time changes and day light savings time is with recurring events and that will have a fix and test to verify it is fixed for all future releases.

Since this is marked resolved I am going to close this ticket, but if you need anything else related to this topic or another please post a new topic on the forum and we can help you out.

    Thanks
