GuestHello,
I am looking to purchase the product and create a site like “Hike it Baby” in your example. Can this be done out of the box, that being: allowing a user to search all events using a city or zip code? Our events will be nationally all over the USA so we need a way for a user to focus in our their home area.

ParticipantThanks for reaching out, Arthur!
When it comes to filtering by zip code or other location details, there is some functionality for this that you can get with Events Calendar Pro “out-of-the-box”.
To see what exactly comes “out-of-the-box” with Events Calendar Pro in this regard, check out or demo page here: http://wpshindig.com/events/
The “Near:” location search box there is a default feature of Events Calendar Pro 🙂 Here’s a screenshot of it for reference (click for a larger-sized image):
Now, this is different from HikeItBaby.com’s specific search bar in its website header that says “Enter city / postal code” and shows on every page. Our plugins do not offer a search bar of this type “out-of-the-box”.
I would encourage you to contact the HikeItBaby.com folks through their site and inquire about how they implemented this search bar.
Please let me know if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with!

ParticipantOK great, thanks. Do you guys offer any theme suggestions or custom theme development. The functionality is great but without a good looking frontend it isnt that useful? Also, I purchased the filter add on and the settings are not accepting my license key (it keeps asking me for it)

ParticipantHey Arthur,
We unfortunately do not provide any theme customization services ourselves. We also don’t maintain an “official” list of recommended themes, as there are simply too many good ones out there to maintain a list!
Folks generally have the least problems with themes from these two sources: wordpress.org/themes and arraythemes.com
This is because themes at both locations follow the WordPress Coding Standards.
If you find a theme shop with themes you like, definitely ask their support team if their themes follow the WordPress Coding Standards, and if so, how strictly they follow those standards. The more strictly they follow those standards the fewer problems you are likely to have.
As for your Filter Bar issue with the license key, can you please do the following two things to help me help you?
1. First, can you screenshots of the exact message the you see when you try entering your license key? You can do so by uploading the screenshots to this thread. If you have issues with that, you can upload to Imgur.com, Flickr.com, CloudUp.com, or any similar image-hosting site; then just share the links to those images here and I’ll take a look.
2. Next, share your site’s complete, un-edited system information using the “Sharing information manually” steps outlined in this article: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
This information will help me try and figure out what’s happening.
Thanks!

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
