Hi,
in our iPhone we want to display
a) a list with all upcoming events (I developed that already)
b) the details of a single event.Based on the Themers Guide I duplicated the single-event.php (to event-app.php):
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/themers-guide/Now I have two questions:
1. What’s the URL to display this page in the browser? The regular URL to show an event is http://www.domain.com/event/name_of_the_event, but how can I display the new view?
2. How can Event ID be handed over from the list of the upcoming events to the single event view (event-app.php)Find attached a graphic to illustrate the solution I’m looking for.
Best regards and thanks for your help in advance.
OliverApril 16, 2018 at 5:52 am #1508025Jaime MarchwinskiKeymasterHi Oliver,
Thanks so much for reaching out!
After reviewing your request this essentially looks like a custom development task and so is outside of our stated scope of support.
With that being said, we’d love to help point you in the right direction.
I’d recommend starting off by taking a look at our Themer’s Guide, which can show you which templates can be edited and copied in order to attempt the results that you are looking for.
If you’d prefer not to tackle this customization on your own, we <i>may</i> be able to assist you further. We do need to prioritize support requests from other customers at this time but I’ll certainly flag this with the team and – although we can’t make any promises – if we have time and space to come back and help, we’ll be happy to do so. Please let us know if you’d like to go this route so that you can be added to this queue.
In the meantime, if there is any more information you can share (including mocks) that will help us to better understand what you are seeking please do feel free to add them to this ticket.
If you urgently need help with this, however, you may instead wish to consider working with a suitably skilled developer or designer who can offer the additional level of support you require.
Let me know if you have any other questions on this topic!
Thanks,
Jaime

nice to meet you! Are you new in the team?
I’m a professional software developer and working with TEC for several years already. I contributed a lot to make the product better. I’m also responsible for the German translation of your plugins 😉
I know this is a kind of customising, but maybe one of your colleagues from the development team can give me a little hint.
Question 2 I could solve meanwhile by myself 🙂
Therefore let me rephrase my first question (I guess above it was to late to describe it clear enough):Under the URL http://www.domain.com/event/<name_of_even> (e.g. https://www.treffpunkt-jazz.de/event/jazz-macht-spazz-mit-boogie-connection/) the “regular view” of the event will be shown in the browser. What is displayed there belongs to the view customized in “single-event.php”.
This view I want to duplicate (e.g. single-event-app.php”), customize it that it looks great on an iPhone (“responsive”) and view it in the iPhone browser.
Now the question is: what’s the URL for showing this new view?
Regards,

Nice to meet you!
So it looks the the URL for the new view will be whatever you register it as.
To further explain, check out the following article, especially the section on adding views:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/understanding-the-tribe-events-bar/
In addition, check out the following forum thread, where a user provided an example of a custom view:
https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/new-view-created-which-you-may-like/
Let me know if that helps!
Thanks,
Jaime

This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
