Countdown for Recurring Events?

I’ve searched forums and knowledge base and can’t seem to find this answer.

Is it possible to use a shortcode for a countdown for a recurring event? I tried the shortcodes here, with no success: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-widget-shortcodes/

It looks like the shortcode with the post ID doesn’t work because it’s the same ID for each recurring event, so it’s showing up blank. I tried to use the slug for an individual date but it doesn’t seem to accept that either.

Thanks so much for reaching out!

You should be able to configure the Countdown Widget to countdown for a recurring event.  You shouldn’t actually need the slug or post ID at all.  I have configured something like the following and a countdown begins in the sidebar:
