ParticipantI recently added Events Tickets Plus and Woo Commerce. Then set up a ticket for one event. Around that same time I updated the Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro. I just tried to enter a new event and the field for entering the cost of the event is missing. The cost is still listed on previously posted events, but when I open those to edit, the field is missing there, too. I deactivated Event Tickets Plus, Event Tickets and Woo Commerce and that brought the field back. Now what? Is there some setting that is causing this to be an either/or thing? Or must I deactivate the tickets functionality while inputting new events? That’s cumbersome and will cut into business.

ParticipantI activated woo commerce and that didn’t break it, but activating Event Tickets did. Can I just use WooCommerce Tickets without Event Tickets until resolved? That just means it’s not embedded in the event as an interactive, right?

ParticipantHey @Ann,
Sorry for the trouble here! To be clear, the “cost” field is intentionally removed when our ticketing plugins are active. This is because the Ticket costs “replace” the cost field.
Here is the reasoning behind that design decision:
- If there’s an event that costs something, there will be tickets for it with that cost and the cost will be displayed with the event.
- If there’s an event that is free, but still requires tickets or RSVPing, then upon the creation of these free ticekts / RSVP slots, “Free” will displayed as the event cost.
- If there’s an event that does not cost anything and also does not require tickets or RSVP functionality, then no cost or “FREE” text will be displayed because it’s not necessary.
Let me know what you think about this! Do you need both the manual cost field and ticket-based auto-cost-field generation on your site? That might be possible, though would require some custom coding.
Thank you,

ParticipantI just submitted a reply, but it disappeared. It was long and eloquent, too. 🙁
George,
Thanks for the prompt reply. I should have read the documentation more closely before purchasing Event Tickets Plus. Was it in there? Any chance of a refund or credit? Here’s the thing. We have one event per year for which we sell tickets. The rest are local venues’ events that we list as a community service. These venues have shows that are either free, have a cover collected at the door, a suggested donation at the door, or for which THEY sell tickets.
That said, our entire site is made possible because of your awesome event calendar plugins and add-ons, for which we are very grateful. It makes our job so much easier.
Thanks again,

ParticipantHey Ann,
I’m sorry to hear that your first attempted response was lost!
In regards to your issues, I would recommend that you try the solution proposed in this knowledgebase article → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/use-the-event-cost-field-with-tickets-installed/
That code snippet should re-instate the Cost Field on your site even though tickets is installed, without affecting the functionality of either tickets or that original Cost Fields.
If this doesn’t help, or you’d rather not even get into the realm of adding custom code snippets to your site, then we can indeed issue a refund and to do this you should simply follow the steps outlined here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/refund-policy/
I really appreciate the kind words about our plugins, Ann, and am glad that they’ve been useful! Try out the code snippet linked above to try and make things even better on your site…if not, we’re happy to refund the purchase of the ticketing plugins.
Thank you,
