Conflict with:Video Gallery YouTube – Vimeo Video Gallery, Youtube Video Gallery

Hi,
I cant’t disable/delete the pluging: Video Gallery YouTube – Vimeo Video Gallery, Youtube Video Gallery
Of: A WP Life

If I do it, my website on the home page shows me the text of the shortcode: [tribe_events view=”photo”] and the widget of The Events Calendar is not working!
How do I solve this conflict?

Thanks so much for reaching out!

As a first step, let’s try to rule out if there is some type of conflict at play.
This is usually because of:

1.    A conflict with another plugin

2.    A conflict with your WordPress theme

3.    A template customization for the Events Calendar that requires updating

When it comes to that type of issue, it is preferable to troubleshoot in a staging environment if you have one.

A first quick test is to simply temporarily revert back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen to see if the issue persists.

The next step would be to go through our testing for conflicts procedure and let us know what you find out.

Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.

But, before you do that, there are 2 things I would advise:

1.    Make a backup of your database

2.    Consider activating a “Maintenance Page” plugin if you are doing this on your live site (to minimize impact on your visitors)

Great, thanks for running through those steps.

As a next step, I’d recommend reaching out to the other plugin developers and see if they have any suggestions for how to make this work, as the issue seems to be related to their plugin.

Why you say: “Seems to be related to their plugin”?
The problem is opposite, if I DISABLE their plugin The Events Calendar is not working.

I don’t need their plugin, I want remove it but without it, The Events Calendar is not working! 🙁
I can leave it enabled and forget about it but it is not the solution.

Just to clarify, are you saying that if you deactivate this other plugin, ours does not work?  Can you be more specific about what does not work when this other plugin is disabled?

Hi Jaime,
I confirm, if I deactivate this other plugin (New Video Gallery), your plugin does not work!

I am attaching two screenshots to explain.
The screenshots were made on a local copy with the theme “Twenty Seventeen” and all the others plugins disabled. I also sent the detail in the private message!

Hi Eros,

This seems to be a strange issue, I’m not quite sure why our plugin is only working if another, unrelated plugin is enabled.

Can you please enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG and share any debug messages you see?
