There is a conflict with TEC 4.1.4 – 4.2 and Advanced Custom Fields. My problem appears when trying to select a page from the ‘Page Link’ field type of ACF. When TEC is enabled, the menu is broken and only a couple pages are visible. It is seemingly random which pages are visible, and if I search, only certain pages are found. I downgraded to 4.1.3 and this problem is gone.

    Hey Michael,

    Welcome back 🙂

Is there any way you can provide screenshots and possibly step-by-step instructions I need follow in order to replicate the issue? I’ve done the most I can with the information provided, but am unable to see the same behavior described in your initial post.

I do want to point out that theme/plugin conflicts are typically outside the scope we’re able to provide, but seeing as it’s related to ACF (a very common plugin), I don’t mind going a bit more in-depth to see if I can identify an actual bug here.

Thank you for reaching out and I look forward to your response.

    Cheers!

Sure, here are screenshots of the page link field options with the plugin activated and deactivated. You’ll notice there are additional pages when the plugin is deactivated. There are a lot of pages on this site so the list is quite long, but with the plugin activated about half of the pages are not listed and cannot be chosen.

Also, perhaps I should start a different thread, but after downgrading the plugin and PRO add-on to 4.1.3, my events page is a white screen and completely inaccessible. I then updated both back to 4.2 and the page is still a white screen.

I’m getting these errors on the Event settings page –

Notice: Undefined variable: displayTab in /nas/content/staging/mpdc/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/common/src/Tribe/Settings_Manager.php on line 56

Just a quick update that the white screen problem is solved – it turned out to be that in the Settings, the default view was set as a view that was not enabled. The original conflict posted is still present.

    Thank you for the response,

Forgive me for not checking the first time around, but can you please confirm the issue occurs while running through our Testing for conflicts guide? Also, what post type (E.g. ‘posts’ or ‘pages’) are you seeing the issue on? One last question: does the issue occur when running the latest versions of both TEC and PRO (version 4.2)?

Thank you again and have a great weekend 🙂

Yes, I’m using the newest version (4.2) of both TEC and PRO, with custom fields on the ‘pages’ post type. Bug still present with default theme and all other plugins deactivated, however I’ve narrowed it down just a bit. The issue is only present when both ‘Pages’ and ‘Events’ are available to select from the Page Link field – meaning either by not specifying a specific post type to filter by, or by selecting both Pages and Events. If I narrow the field down to only display pages, then all pages are displayed.

    Hey Micael,

Thank you for the response. I attempted to recreate the issue but I’m having troubles doing so. If you don’t mind, send over screenshots of your ACF rules and I’d be happy to give it another shot. I do want to point out that I’m fairly limited on the support I’m able to provide here, but if we’re able to locate a bug for certain, I’ll bring it up with the devs and see what they have to say.

    Thanks again!

    Cheers 🙂
