Conflict: Genesis Simple Share/Javascript Error

Hi there! I’m using EDD + TEC on a Genesis Site with Genesis Simple Share.

I am able to enable the checkbox for showing Genesis Simple Share icons on the events, but when viewing the individual events page (https://holdingwomanspace.com/event/summer-solstice-summit/) and the archive events page (https://holdingwomanspace.com/events/) there are javascript errors that appear to be preventing the Genesis Simple Share icons from showing.

Can you help? I am experienced with WP but not very experienced with Javascript.

Hi,

Thanks for using the Events Calendar. I can help out here. I use both Genesis and TEC on a daily basis.

I visited your site and did not see any JavaScript errors on the main event view and was getting 404 errors on the single events so I could not troubleshoot it.

Can you please first follow our 404 Error Guide to fix those: (this maybe coming from the fact your event slug is “event” that should not be the same as the view slug, which by default is “event” too)

It also looks like you have the Events Calendar Debug turned on, can you turn that off in your settings here:

Events > Settings > General > “Miscellaneous Settings” > “Debug Mode”

Let me know about these and then I can take a look into the JS errors.

Hey – thanks for the quick response.

I updated the /event/ slug issue (changed it to details).

I also flushed the permalinks – does this fix the 404 issue you were seeing? I didn’t see the 404 issue, so I can’t verify that flushing the permalinks fixed it.

I do not have debug on – just checked. Went in and turned it on and then back off to see if that flushed anything.

What’s my next step?

Ok I can see the single events now.

I do not see the Simple Share Icons or any errors in the console.

Oh I see now.

Ok those are not errors it is just debug information. Everything is working.

It does not display on Single Events Pages, but adding this to your theme’s function.php should make it display:

Thank you. I edited it a bit to include it after the content — What is the best method for creating some vertical space between the icons and the calendar export buttons?

You might be able to add an html break <br> before the div in that snippet and that might do it. Or add some custom css for a margin on the top.
