GuestHi,
I’ve gone through most of the documentation I could find but am still unsure of a couple of things. I want to create a calendar that:
shows competition entry dates, closure dates and winner announced dates for multiple different competitions throughout the year.Ideally clicking on the event/competition name takes the user to the event page (external)
I would also like these to be filtered by things like entry fee, prize money, country, etc.
Is all of the above possible?

ParticipantHey Anton,
Thanks for reaching out! I’ll address each of the specified details as follows:
shows competition entry dates, closure dates and winner announced dates for multiple different competitions throughout the year.
Entry dates and closure dates are shown by default for events, but there is no “winner announced” dates built into the plugin. You could just add this in the event content, or could write custom code to make some other solution, but there is not “out-of-the-box” feature for a tertiary date like “winner announced”; there’s only the start and end dates.
Ideally clicking on the event/competition name takes the user to the event page (external)
By default it only leads to the internal single event page. You could, however, install this extension that we offer on your site—it will make it so that the titles and such do link to a specified external URL → https://theeventscalendar.com/extensions/make-event-titles-link-to-the-event-website-url/
I would also like these to be filtered by things like entry fee, prize money, country, etc.
This is only possible with our premium add-on called Filter Bar, which you can find here: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-events-filterbar/
I hope this all helps, Anton! I should also note that The Events Calendar is a fully-featured plugin, and is totally free here: wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar. So you can always just download it, install it, and start tinkering with it firsthand to see if it’ll be a good fit.
Please let me know if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with.
Sincerely,
GeorgeJanuary 31, 2017 at 1:36 am #1226690Anton
GuestHi George,
Thank you for your reply.Yes I’ve had a play with the free version, but it’s the filter bar I’d like to try out. So to expand on the above, if I imported custom fields via the csv importer, such as entry fee, prize money etc. Could I add these to the filter bar?

ParticipantHey Anton,
When it comes to Filter Bar, it only allows for “Custom fields” filters in a very specific way:
• Events Calendar Pro provides a feature called “Additional Fields”, which lets you add custom fields to event details. (This is different from the basic “custom fields” feature built into WordPress!)
• You can learn more about this specific type of “Additional Field” here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-additional-fields/
• If these fields exist, then Filter Bar will add filters them to Filter Bar
However, please note the following details here:
• Events Calendar Pro is required for those event “Additional Fields” to exist.
• You would have to tinker with a CSV import to get it to work with custom “Additional Fields” — each “Additional Field” would have to have its own column, for example
• But then yes, if you could manage this and get the CSV imports to accurate populate Events Calendar Pro’s “Additional Field” values, these would be “filterable” with Filter Bar.I hope this helps!

GuestHi George,
Again, thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. I think I’ll be abe to do what I want and want to purchase, but now I see php errors on mobile and tablet. Any idea what’s happening here?
I can share a screenshot but don’t want to register with any of the image hosting options.
