MemberGood afternoon Christian and welcome back!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about the error 500 you have been getting on your community page.
I would love to help you with this topic.Could you please:
- Confirm that all of your plugins are still active after the update ?
- Re-save your permalinks (without updating anything) ?
- Take a look at your .htaccess file to see if it contains unwanted characters ?
Have a good week-end,
Geoff B.

ParticipantHello Geoff!
Thanks for the reply. I tried and confirmed your suggestions. Still no luck.

MemberHey Christian,
I’m sorry this did not work out for you. The reason I suggested these steps is because the main 2 causes for error 500s are:
- Corrupted .htaccess files
- Plugin not found
With that in mind, could you:
- Go over to Events -> Settings -> Community and take a look at the community rewrite slug to see if it’s still intact ? If it is, could you re-save it the settings on that page ?
- Go through our testing for conflicts procedure (preferably in a staging/dev environment or local install of your WordPress website) and let us know what you find out.Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.
Best regards,
Geoff B.

ParticipantI have tried shutting off all plugins and turning back on ,etc…. still no dice…
The htaccess file is fine and I have tried reserving the community events slug several times , and changing it … still does not work…
frustrating…

MemberGood evening Christian,
I totally understand how frustrating this can be. Hang in there.
That being said, I believe there might be a misunderstanding about how to use the testing procedure. The goal is not to deactivate and reactivate the plugins to fix things.
Rather, the goal is to temporarily deactivate all the non the Events Calendar related plugins AND switch to a default WordPress theme to see if the issue persists while under these conditions.
Another thing worth trying, after a backup, is to manually try to reinstall (overwrite the files of all your the Events Calendar plugins) – I can help with that if you want
Could you also tell me what is the confirmation message you get while attempting to flush permalinks (re-saving them)
Finally, this might also be due to a WordPress memory limit issue. Based on your wp-config file, could you tell me what it is set at currently ?
Best regards,
Geoff B.

ParticipantHey Geoff, Found the conflict..backed up the site and moved to a different server.. noticed the form submit worked there. I think I had an old php.ini file in the live site from our dev server migration that caused a conflict. i deleted that off the live server and also set memory to 256mb in wpconfig file… now its working . Thanks for your help !
